Transfered TW From PC to Laptop: HELP

Okay, so I just got a new laptop. It's an HP 64 bit running Windows 7. I'm having a problem with my game however. What I'm doing I believe is theoretically possible, but I'm not sure if it will work in practice. I'm trying to just transfer over my entire Medieval II file directory (the entire game + mods) over from my PC to my Laptop. I've got it almost finished...a few files on SS to finish up.

I'm having a problem though. My PC isn't recognizing MIITW as being "installed" on my laptop. Now I have done this in the past with Rome Total War and it has worked fine, so I'm wondering what the possible problem might be.


Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there an easy way of doing this? I should mention that I am missing one disk from my MIITW set due my devious little puppy dog that somehow managed to get it a while back when I was still doing installation. That is partly why I am trying to just transfer everything over.

You need all the registry entries, too, and in 64bit, the rules change a little. This will incliyed SS with its launcher entries.

Best install the game, then transfer the mods.

Yes. It aint like old DOS where you could just grab anf go.

Windows is too involved for that.

I kind of figured as much. Tis a shame...I feel lazy. I guess I'll have to see if that disk is too dented to use...Blah
