A half-blood born to a Muggle dermatologist and a Witch studying magical creatures, Xander led a fairly comfortable life. As his parents were usually occupied with his loud and excitable younger sister, Xander grew into a quiet and independent young man. He spent most of his days cooped up in his room reading books of all sorts. When Voldmort returned, the family mostly kept its head down and tried not to publicize its Half-Blood status, knowing this would make them a target for the Death Eaters. Despite this, the Rosenburgs were attacked by a single Death Eater, and Xander's father lost an eye before the attacker fell. At age 11, they received the expected letter from Hogwarts and Xander was sent off to school.



On the quiet side, though he does not hesitate to let others know his views on any given matter. He is quite arrogant, and often gets very irritated when confronted with people of lesser intelligence. As he puts it, "I have no time for stupids. If you can't do something then don't hinder those who can." Some find him mean, but he insists that "they're just saying that because they're jealous of his intellect, good looks, and overall superiority.” Despite his abrasive exterior, he gets along very well with those he sees as equals. In fact, he can be exceedingly pleasant to be around if not in a terrible mood. His favorite animal is the African Elephant.
