It certainly seems that way, also how the hell do you fight giants? I have tried finding info about what spells to use but most seem fairly useless.

From what I can gather tripping them works well as do elemental spells. Cutting them would also work I think. Stunning them or trying to impede them otherwise would be difficult though. It also might take couple wizards to take them down
