Books are free right now until Eol gets his store up and running. When that happens he will post his prices. I'd keep about 200-300 Galleons on reserve

Consider any teaching materials you need to have already been provided by Hogwarts. You could RP yourself gathering what you need for class though. Could even get you proficiency points if its well done.

For potions you won't need to buy potion ingredients for your class.

The cost of the supplies is decided by the shopkeepers. The professors can only give you second-hand books if you did not buy one (as it happened to Harry Potter in the 6th year).
