INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Follow these installation instructions 'to the letter', folks, and you should have no problems:
1. Download the installation file.
2. Double-click and click next. You will see these instructions:
********************************************************************
Note;
This is a 'dumb' installer, made by myself (DVK901). It will not find your install,
you need to point it to the correct directory. The 'correct' directory will be the place
where the executables are to run the game. That is, the directory where RomeTW.exe or
RomeTW-BI.exe are loacated in your RS2 install.
This installer will ask you if it needs to overwrite any files. Choose to overwrite all,
(yes to all). If it does NOT ask you this, you have installed this patch in the wrong place.
This Patch contains all previous patches, so you do not need any other patch than this one
if you are creating a new installation of RS2. This setup will not create any icons or make
any registry changes.
The RS2.0 download can be found here, under the "Download links, and installation instructions" section.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=386559
After installing RS2.0, install this patch. No other previous patch is needed.
If you already have RSII installed and patched to 2.1a, you just need to run this executable on your existing install.
Be warned though that a modified install (personal modifications or submods) might not upgrade properly, and that this patch is NOT SAVE COMPATIBLE.
When you have chosen the correct directory to install into be sure to remove this:
(Roma Surrectum 2.5)
From the path, otherwise, the installer will CREATE that path and install the patch wrong.
*************************************************************************
3. Once you have selected the right directory and removed the text listed above, click next and the install will begin.
4. If you are NOT asked to overwrite files, click 'cancel', start over, and do it right!
Since the original installer for RS2 will have made an icon for you, you'll have to do nothing else.

Although we are calling this a 'beta' release, I'm fairly confident that there are very few issues that would require immediate attention, or result in disastrous CTD's. We've done everything possible to make this mod as error free as it can be, within the limitations of the game engine itself.
If you:
1. Turn ON shaders
2. Disable and set Autosave to FALSE
3. Turn OFF anti-aliasing
4. Use the standard settings that your PC will support
5. Have not installed RS2 in the 'Program Files' folder of either Vista or newer OS's
6. And save you campaigns regularly to differently named save files
You should have many enjoyable campaigns.
I will open a special 'pinned' thread for reporting any issues with RS2.5, and would appreciate it if people would use it exclusively to report problems....whether real or perceived. RS2.5 hasn't been tested in many long running campaigns, so it has been difficult to predict what the money, army or overall feel of the mod will be later on. Thats' where we need your help.
I must confess that the trait and ancillary systems in RS2.5 have taken me over a year to write and test (excluding Roman because Tone did those), and it ain't gonna be changed easily. There are multiple different versions of traits files in various campaigns, along with description files, so the 'I don't like this' kind of changes would require a lot of work in ALL campaigns. I'm just being honest about this. I will gladly change 'major' issues, but the nit-picky things probably won't get much attention. My RL situation is really 'poor' right now, so my time is going to be very limited.
I will also grant that our documentation could be a lot better. But there just isn't anyone on the team anymore who's had the time to do it. So if you want to help there, great. Otherwise, please don't 'hang us in effigy' because we didn't explain things very well.
Thanks to all for being patient and sticking with RS2. Hope you enjoy this update.
