Hey guys, first time posting on here so please be nice
Just downloaded Medieval Total War Gold Edition off of Steam. Installed Medieval TW2 and when I tried to run it it comes up with an update progress bar which shoots up to 100% before popping up with an error message "An error has occurred while updating Medieval 2 II: Total War Kingdoms (Disk IO Failure)". First time I've had any problems of this nature so I searched it up online and it's come up with some pretty worrying results (i.e. my hard-drive could be screwed) along with a link to another thread on here - http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=513903 (didn't want to revive an old thread). I've tried doing the good old 'remove program files' on the Steam interface and redownloading but I'm still getting the same message.
Funnily enough, Kingdoms had downloaded first earlier and appeared to run fine. When TW2 installed however it came up with this message. Any advice?
My laptop seems to be in fine working order with other Steam games, etc.
Anyone got any advice?
