    One could think so Turin, but you have to know something about such Zweihänder swords. The lower part of the blade wasn`t sharpened- Called "Fehlschärfe" in german. This allowed the soldier to grap that part of the sword with his hand. Why would he do that you might ask- Well, for one it was used when there wasn`t much room to properly swing the sword around. But mainly it was used against polearms, which made it easier "to push them aside".

    Though, you are also right. Usually they would use the right but not the left hand for that. See, this is a side effect of them also using two-handed axes in the unit. Damn animations! But since giving them both weapons is accurate to the books, and holding that sword in such a way is reasonable, it is absolutely fine.
