TWC is slow as hell...

I've noticed that occasionally the CPM ad takes a while to load, but I've also noticed, not as much since the new RAM, that the site itself was slow as well and that I'd get a wating for www.twcenter.net before it even tried to load the ads and stuff.

Yeah this is getting annoying now (although for a very brief time from my experience), especially when you lose your entire post while replying.
The slow down also seem to cause pointless double posts.

503s shouldn't really appear after RAM upgrade as that basically happens when no memory is available to handle new requests & current ones are being processed.

Well up until recently I wasn't getting them, while the site is faster overall now when it slows down it starts to shoot out 503's with more regularity.

Also yes, the double posting is annoying.

The site got extremely slow between 2054GMT and 2056GMT. In that time I did three tracerts and none of them showed any unusually high pings.

I'd guess it's from GeDs tinkering, but the forum goes through a 5-10 minute bout of sluggishness before going back to normal for a while.

When I restart things that is a bit normal as they have to cache back up. If I restarted MySQL it would take a hell of a lot longer.

The RAM is separate from what is going on now. Just coincidental timing. These are PHP errors and I do not know exactly where they are coming from, especially since I dont know of any code changes anyone has made. Troubleshooting PHP isnt exactly my forte either. I will start posting on the Ubuntu forums about it and maybe even shoot an email to Sim.

The rough timeline of when I started noticing the forum slowing down coincided with the official MC server going live. I doubted it had any impact.

They are completely separate machines. The only thing in common they have is a power source.

The problem is really irratic for me. One time a page will load like a lightening bolt, the next I get a 503 or it takes 5-10 seconds. I tried to send a PM to someone today and clicked send.....it sat there for WAY more than 10 seconds...so I went elsewhere for a while. When I came back it STILL hadn't sent, so I clicked the submit button a bunch of times and finally it sent. Then the guy I sent it to wrote back that he got the same PM 9 times! LOL

But I normally have 4-5 TWC pages open.....and the weird thing is that one will be just fine, while another seems like it's stuck in mud. ???
