Gotta say, at the Grognards (an NTW3 clan) we started recently to play HB on weekends, and we are fascinated by them. Enormous work from Lord Desaix and Lord The Fenix, and all who participate in helping with the OOb's etc.

    Just great work !

Do you mean of Castiglione (which was actually fought at Solferino on the same site of the more famous battle of Napoleon III for the italian independance) ?

This is the only found on web

Map is awesome, a series of central hills with plain on both side.

A first layout showing the map boundary. In green the little town of Castiglione, in purple the Rocca Tower (later called The Spy of Italy since austrian border run roughly there during the independance war of 1860), in yellow the village of Solferino and in red the Monte Medolano where Marmont converged with his artillery storming the austrian left (actually a unnoticeable hill just few metres high).

Although map size is standard 2000X2000, the feeling of extension is huge, looking from the bottom left corner you can barely recognize La Rocca hill.

I am very much looking forward to this one, LEGIO_Desaix! I particularly like this period - when the armies were still relatively small, the guns light, and the terrains in northern Italy are so beautiful.

I must agree on the beauty of terrain, ondulated hills like at Montebello looks always attractive (must be the parallelism with woman's curves that appeals the typical napoleonic hussar ).
Take Raszyn, all those flatt marshes ...

The battle will present two completely different scenarios: the engagement of the 3rd of August between Augerau and Davidovich (circa 75 units) and the full battle of the 5th of August with 140+ units suitable for a good 3vs3. Austrian cannot win (at least in my opinion) on both days, that's why I will provide a couple of what if scenarios with austrian reinforcements that were scattered on the Peschiera and Garda area.

First shots from Castiglione battlefield. After Raszyn mud thei looks relaxing with vineyards and cultivated fields. You can see LA Rocca Tower dominating the castle and village of Solferino. In one shot taken from the castle roof you can see in the far distance the Monte Medolano where Napoleon charged after an heavy bombardment by Marmont battery.

In another shot a view taken from the Castle of Castiglione, theater of the fights of the 3th of August looking east towards Solferino (just below the tower in the far middle).

A big thanx to Primergy for his tower model and vineyards
