Explanation: I started off slow, capturing Smyrna and Rhodes, and then retraining that army, building a defence force to protect against Hungary, and starting a nation-wide ports build. Of course Venice had to blockade Thessalonica, so i responded by building a sizable navy (2 navies each with 8 dromons) and sinking every Venetian fleet I could find. Next I landed at Iraklion and took it, which gave me all the islands in the Eastern Mediterranean. I next received a mission to capture Bucharest, which I completed, and ensured it's survival by marrying Hungary's faction heir to make that "strong alliance with a usually hostile faction. I next pressed on to Iasi, where I stopped to retrain and finish building the economy back home. I made peace with Venice, and received a tiny bit of money. Then Poland attacked Iasi, so i responded by taking Kiev. Then we made peace. Then Venice attacked me again, so I took Durazzo, and we made peace again, with me receiving money. Poland tried a two-prong attack against me at Iasi and Kiev. I beat them so badly that they came to me asking for peace, which i accepted in return for Halych.

So in conclusion, the answers to my hints were Hungary (alliance) and Venice/Poland (off-and-on wars)

Papal States usually gets their asses kicked by either the Moors or Milan in my campaigns, its rather amusing to have a papal election every 5 turns.
