Basically I was completely overwhelmed from the start. I started off by conquering Zaragoza and Valencia. I also captured Bordeaux. Then the Portuguese showed up out of nowhere and took Leon. I responded by taking Pamplona. Then Bordeaux was seized by France, and Zaragoza by the Sicilians. The Moors had also attempted to take Toledo. Then the English came down and took Pamplona. I was down to my last family member (Affonso my 52 year old king) and I was in serious money trouble with only Valencia and Toledo left. I managed to sneak out and capture Grenada because I needed the funds. Unfortunately the Moors took Valencia. I was then able to capture Cordoba against huge odds because I knew it would bring great financial benefit. After I captured Cordoba, my financial worries were over, however it was too late to prevent the English from seizing Toledo. I had a medium sized army there and was able to win one battle and get a man of the hour general, but the settlement fell when the army was out of reach. With the remnants of that army, I was able to take Pamplona. Later I sent a new general that I had received via adoption to take on Algiers. It may seem like I was turtling here, but I was honestly trying my hardest to expand. I was constantly in debt and at war with Portugal, Moors, France, England, Milan, and Sicily simultaneously.

This is also a good map.
At first look I'd vote for France which seems the obvious choice.
But I'm also amazed by how fast Denmark and Scotland expanded 'till turn 45.
Spain and Hungary don't look too bad either.
