1.5 beta coming soon!

Announcement: RTW 1.5 version of the ROP beta

We, the ROP team, are glad to announce that we will release the next beta of our mod on Thursday June 8'th, 8 PM GMT. This new beta is basically the base on which to build the rest of our mod, which is progressing quite fast. You can expect a preview featuring a very interesting faction, the Neo-Babylonians, very soon after the release. Also, the Lydian Empire almost has their units finished, and many factions are in the latest stages of research: Media, Skythia, Massagetes, Makedon, Thrake, the two Indian factions Maghada and Pandya (of which the latter one will get an overhaul). We also have started making an overhaul for Kemet, maybe better known to you as Egypt.

The new beta will feature seven playable factions: Hakamanishiya Pars, Poleis Iades (Ionian Cities), the Pandyan Kingdom, Athenai, Kemet, Lakedaimon and the city-state of Taras.
Also, the campaign map has been overhauled with more than fifty new regions in Italy, Greece, Asia Minor, Thrace, Scythia and northern Africa, replacing the old regions which were quite inadequate for our timescheme. Here's a small teaster:

We also got permission to use the EB animations, which we have applied to our units in the upcoming beta. Here's another teaser, showing most of the greek spear units we already had, but then with the new animations:

Yeah! Sorry, I mentioned in the RoP forums that I'm on vacation with my school class from tomorrow 'till monday. Damn, so my new interface and my symbols will not be included...

Anyway, I'm sure RoP on a 1.5 RTW will be awsome. As I mentioned in the RoP forums, I've now finished the interface template and found my symbol templates, so oce I'm back, everything will be finished quickly.

I'm afraid not, this is, as said, a base for future releases. It's more or less the same as the 1.2 beta, but with more cities on the campaign map and EB's animations ( and without bugs! ). But the Babylonians and the Lydians have been finished now, and the Kemets are getting a complete overhaul, so expect a new, big release some time soon...hopefully. :wink:

Well, at least the Previews of these factions is not far away.

As Gos said, the 1,5-Beta is merely the base on which we can implement the great factions to come.

When the big release comes, you can play a game recreating the history of four major superpowers
(Babylon, King Croesus' Lydian Empire, Media and Egypt) who's fragile balance of power is coming to an end
due to the uprising of a Persian lord named Cyrus,
and that of sourrounding peoples like Greeks, Indians, Arabs and various nomads, who's history is changed forever ...

What if the Lydians would have beaten the Persians?
What if Babylon would have never lost her power?
You can see that with Rise of Persia, when it is finished.

The 1,5-Beta is the base, we are giving to the community as first glance, not more.
Just to show, we are not dead.
