So Gimli and Legolas drowned together? Perhaps a ship tried to save them, but Gimli couldn't reach it? Perhaps Legolas offered to throw him but Gimli replied,
"NOBODY tosses a DWARF!" Then inspired by his pride Legolas bade the ship leave and the two went down together.

Honestly that is how their tale should've been written by Tolkein.

Still, marvellous book, and I am sad that it is over.

Also, a question. Do you find writing as the bad guy more entertaining?

Many actors say that to play villains are more entertaining, and as long as you do not make them flat and stereotype (I get really bored with "I do evil stuff, because I am evil, because I am evil"-kind of villains) I'd say indeed they have a good shot at being more fun than 'good' guys; good heroes are seldom goodie-goodie after all.
It do not have to be much at all, as simple as a strain of humanity even in a maniac who lost all sense, but as soon as you give them some dept they are very fun to follow (as I often view my writing) since they have no constraints beside what they themselves consider proper to do. It allows you to write more freely and creative IMO.

Ngugi, I absolutely loved this series. A great humorous book based on lotr.

You're not even close to being as good as Tolkien, though, sorry. Too many grammatical errors, language is way below his knowledge and your style is too way different to even compare the two of you. This to say: BECOME AN AUTHOR, MAN.

Thanks; and don't worry haha, I do not seriously compair myself to a linguistic professor like Tolkien, he for sure even knew Swedish grammar better than I do haha. Still I have my niche and will take good help from translators if my WIP novels will enter the english market

My big novel project I've been working on for 9½ years now, but still not written anything on the novels themselves [sic!], but just the background stories and info about the characters etc (is a fiction about the human future history about 2500 year ahead).
However if you want to read something more of what I've written, which is almost never of A Goblin Tale-character I might note, there's always The People of the Pillars, the short story from the Writing Competition summer 2012 as I contributed with and as can be found in the spoiler box in my signature

Interesting. I could point a few spelling mistakes here and there, and I would've done some things differently, but I really liked it. You're certainly a better author than I am

Can't say anything directly about your and mine skill but I have 3 direct tips;

1) Read, and read a lot. Either good books to train to copy good books (but only to get a feeling before you retur to your own style, with new input) or bad books (to be made aware of how you would not write something that has a good idea; what I myself actually prefere)

2) Get a good person to give feedback. Not someone who point out grammar but reflect on the story. Like 'why did that not happened before X because of/why did that not happened later on because of' or 'Shouldn't he/she say something more like...' etc etc

3) Write. Each time you write you level up, in msall or big matters

1) I read a lot. Just finished the Talisman, now taking on LOTR again.

2) I have some friends I occasionally ask for advice.

3) I write in play-by-post role-playing forums, which is good for your character building skills.
