How do I use it to compress the actual files themselves sir?

Right click on the folder containing the files, there should be an option to compress the folder (assuming you have the latest version of winrar). Good luck.

Failing that have you tried simply uploading the songs one by one to sites such as www.rapidshare.de

Thats as much as i know about this stuff

The prob. is how do I get the songs from cd to the folder? I know how to create a folder and how to use Winrar.

When I do this only the links to the songs manifest.

Use the rip function of Windows Media Player. It can give you mp3's, which is in fact the format the game uses as well. On standard settings, it gives WMAs, but you can change settings somewhere.
