See Curia; war's almost over I don't think they'd give me patrician points for having a patronage relationship though. Well, actually I don't know, because we haven't ever done it before I know! Have him marry my daughter

Mmm.. No? Patronage was so common back in Rome...
Are you sure? You see, your character is THE consul, he is one of the nobilitas, surely the most distinguished class in Rome. Mine's just a the son of a minor senator, a once successfull (and very rich) merchant who lost everything in a shipwreck; just for roleplay sake, what could be your characters intentions to marry his daughter?

Desperation? She's kinda old I don't know really. Gens Aurelia and Maria are both plebian though, and plebs can't marry patricians. So basically there are no suitors. It would serve your character's interests to marry the daughter of a well-known family though. And I still have a son too. I think we should ask Ponti about this

So the law which permited marriage between plebeians and patricians haven"t been emited? I think is the Pappia-Poppea... Umm whatever
About the marriage, of course my character would benefit from the marriage, maybe we could arrange it IC I'll visit you in your villa to "discuss" some trade issues, and I'll bring my kid, hehe, after all, he needs to meet people

Yeah number XI of the Twelve Tables forbids it. Anyway First let me get this straight... the father is your aux, and the young guy is your main?

Actually, yes
He is more than fifty years old, so he could be dying anytime soon

Well that's going to be... unfortunate IC and interesting OOC. We've only had two character deaths before. One was because the guy got banned from the game, so we basically said "then he dropped dead" and held a funeral. Second time, Stig's character committed suicide. That was a bit controversial, which is why we now have a rule explicitly allowing characters to kill themselves. Basically no one's ever died of old age

Oh, thanks, Okmin, by the way, how was your character's father named?
I called him Gaius (like your character), but I really don"t know

Let's call him Publius so it doesn't get confusing
