HEER
The German Army (German: Heer) is the land forces component of the German armed forces (Reichswehr). It is the oldest and by far the largest of the three major branches in the German military with traditions stretching back several centuries. During the First World War, a total of 15 million soldiers served in the Heer, of whom around six million became casualties. The Heer is widely regarded as one of the most formidable armies of all time. Highly professional and innovative with a strong relation between the officers and the fighting men the Heer is indeed a force not to underestimate. Superbly lead by brilliant tacticians many of whom were instrumental in the defeat of the Allies in France, Belgium, and Russia. Their dreadful arsenal includes the accurate Kar98 rifle, MP40 submachinegun, the devastating MG34 light machinegun, the feared 8cm mortar, Flak 88 cannon, Panzer III's, StuGs, Pak 40 anti-tank gun. In short the Germans have access to some of the very finest weapons man has ever produced, and their innovative arms industry continues developing newer more deadly tools of war.

LUFTWAFFE
The Luftwaffe is the youngest branch in the Reichswehr and by far the most innovative. The first military aircraft to be acquired by the German Army entered service in 1910 - forming the nucleus of what was to become the Luftstreitkräfte in October 1916. The duties of such aircraft were initially intended to be reconnaissance and artillery spotting in support of armies on the ground, just as balloons had been used during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870–1871 and even as far back as the Napoleonic Wars. For comparison, France's embryonic army air service (Aviation Militaire), which eventually became the Armée de l'Air, was instituted later in 1910 - the Air Battalion of the Royal Engineers (later re-organised as the Royal Flying Corps) was not formed until November 1911.

REICHSMARINE
The Imperial Navy (German: Reichsmarine) is the naval component of the Reichswehr. It was created shortly after the unification of Germany under Prussian leadership. In June 1888 Wilhelm II became Emperor after the death of his father Frederick III, who ruled for only 99 days. He started his reign with the intention of doing for the navy what his grandfather Wilhelm I had done for the army.
The creation of a maritime empire to rival the British and French empires became an ambition to mark Germany as a truly global great power Wilhelm became Grand Admiral of the German Navy, but also was bestowed honorific titles from all over Europe, becoming admiral in the British, Russian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Greek navies. On one occasion he wore the uniform of a British admiral to receive the visiting British ambassador. At this time the Imperial Navy had 534 officers and 15,480 men. Following the experienced gained during the last war it was decided that the Reichsmarine would be mainly focused around a revolutionary ship design; the submarine, or U-boot as it is known in German. The Allies failure to effectively counter the u-boots is widely regarded as one of the major reasons why Germany won the war. While naval aviation has been tested it has yet to see any major breaktrough within the reichsmarine, however it is expected that Germany will launch her first carriers within a decade.
