The torrent download(s) will never be corrupted as it's content gets checked. Regular, corrupted downloads have to be repeated.
At some stage the installation will appear frozen - do not cancel unless you actually get an error message.
It has been reported that doing something else on the computer while installing may result in a faulty installation - have a coffee, talk to your mother\girlfriend but leave the machine alone while the installation is running.

Clicking between main campaign and custom battle in the menu is known to cause crashes - simply don't do it, there is no fix for it, some mods just have it more then others.

And as always check the 'error reporting' section in the first post how to get a log and submit it.

Hi gigantus I downloaded the pre-configured option in the optional download section and it installed and starts without a hitch but the text is in german, any simple way to change this?

I love this mod! Recently I started a Reikland campaign and it was going well up until turn 62. Now every time I hit end turn it goes through all the other factions turns until it hits rebels, the the "sigma preserve us" message comes up. Any tips on how to fix this?

    *sigh*

Alright well, I've done all I can do and it doesn't really work for me either. Here's what I've done thus far:

I download the torrent which contains the three parts to download + the 005 patch.
The first part I install tells me that "This may not have been installed correctly." I ignore it and hit the "It's installed correctly" option. I get no more of these messages for the rest of the parts. Each part easily installs into my Medieval 2 Total War directory.
I install the patch and quick fixes, thus far having no noticeable issues.
All seemed well and good. I was excited to play. So, I launch the mod via the shortcut provided. What do I get? Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over! Closing the gates to save our souls!

Ok, so I try it with The Toolbox instead, provided here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?661279 Result: Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!
Alright, alright, fine. No problem. so I then apply the 3rd step of the tutorial presented on the OP of this thread. Everything checks out, both boxes checked. Doesn't fix the issue whatsoever.

Ok, a little frustrated, I try reinstalling the whole mod from scratch. This time however, when the first part installer finishes and gives me the "This may not have been installed correctly" popup, I go with the "Reinstall with recommended settings" option just to see if this may have been the issue. So in this case I essentially had to wait for two install times for the same installer.
Afterwards, unlike the previous choice the first time around, each subsequent part I installed gave me this popup, including the patch and quick fix installers. Regardless, I hit the recommended settings option for each.
I double checked the security options in the folder's properties, and they're still fine. Then I launch the mod, once again with the provided shortcut to the executable batch file. Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!
I once again use The Toolbox launcher. Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!
After yet another startup crash, I go ahead and try the obsolete KingdomsLauncherApp, which proved to be just that- obsolete. Doesn't work. Nothing happens.
At this point, I even try the basic method of renaming the mod folder to a Kingdoms campaign. Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!

Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!
Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!
Sigmar preserve us, Chaos has taken over!

I just don't know what else to do! This has been the most aggravating, frustration-inducing installation I've had in a while. Is it because of the whole UAC/VirtualStore thing? I checked the security options and it seems to be fine, but even if it is the problem, judging by what's said on the tutorial, it's not something I really want to disable for security purposes. Could it be that the downloads are corrupted? I don't know. The OP states that the torrent downloads can't be corrupted. If this is true, then I really don't know what I've done wrong.

I have also checked the game's log. It seems to say a lot of stuff is "not found" or doesn't exist regarding the mod's files, but I installed the mod in as many ways as I know I can so I don't see what the problem is. I'll paste the log down in the pastebin link below as well as the system log when I tried renaming the mod to an existing Kingdoms campaign. Maybe some of you can figure out what's wrong with this because I have all but given up hope on this one.

Alright, I'm at a complete loss. I'm running the steam version of Medieval 2, and when ever I install this mod in each part, along with the patch, the fixes, and the campaign script in what I believe to be the correct location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War) I just get the inevitable error that says "Sigma preserve us, Chaos has taken over! Closing the gates to save our souls!" right after I launch the bat file. I can't even get to the main menu.

I've already given medieval 2 full security access. And I even cleaned out the registry on one installation. I tried the Kingdoms Launcher app in conjuncture with M2TW Launcher Replacement. I even tried Guan Ziyang's Universal Mod Launcher. None of these work. It's always the exact same error message.

I know I can get mods working on this computer for medieval 2. I've got stainless steel to work, with a bit of effort on my part. However, I'm really at a loss here.

I have tried all of the above, and nothing has worked so far. My Rome 2 Launcher & game runs fine, GEM just doesn't seem to be enabled.

Install worked great for me, only problem I have is that for some reason the client is windowed + only takes up about 2/3s of my screen; the left and center of my screen are the game window, the right 1/3 of my screen is just my desktop background. Changing resolution ingame didn't resize the window, only made the game fuzzy. The game was on 1024x768 and I have a 1366x768 monitor.

EDIT: Found the posts from others who have the same problem. Editing the .cfg file didn't do anything whatsoever. I even tried manually typing in the campaign_resolution and battle_resolution I wanted, nothing. Game window is still windowed and still only takes up part of my screen, even after switching between 0 and 1 for windowed and borderless_window options. And I can't play with it like this, because the start button for campaign/battles is beneath my taskbar, so I can't click it.

EDIT 2: I'm using the disk version of the game, if that helps. Lost my CD Key ages ago so I didn't convert it to Steam.

when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.
