Also, as someone who did quite a lot of work on PSFs for the DOTS team last year, I can say simply that there's a hell of a lot more information on PSFs in Western Europe than there is anywhere else. I'm afraid that other regions will always look somewhat denuded compared to Western Europe, unless things have changed drastically. On the plus side, PSFs in Byzantium and the Islamic world in particular should have a great diversity of sizes and levels than those of Western Europe.
Well, PSFs aren't my field. You should talk to Hross or Res.

It isn't with Res's stuff because I did it...

And the PSF appearance for that part of the world hasn't been changed yet, they are all just generic Christian forts at the moment. This will change.

EDIT: Also it is possible the concentration of PSFs in Europe might be thinned out in the future.

Question: Will we be able to march from North Africa to the Iberian Peninsula across the Strait of Gibraltar or do we need a ship to carry men across it?

Also, this mini preview looks fantastic. Textures and graphics look amazing!

    Thank you very much.

Currently you need a ship but I think when it is released you will just be able to send troops across.

I have crossed the Straight of Gibraltar in real life. It is a very narrow stretch of water so I think just being able to march them in is OK because it didn't seem to deter many invaders of Iberia in the past. This includes the Moors and the Arabs.

Nice work, but it only shows Northern Africa, is there any regions further south?

Yes. Although they are currently a work-in-progress and have not yet been previewed.

You can see how far south the map extends by looking at the minimap in the bottom left corner of the last image I posted.

so.. i am assuming by the length of time this has been in the works, and the lack of question on the subject in question (that i have been able to find) that this next question is going to be redundantly redundant. if not painfully reopening a wound... but i must ask.

    projected release date? ::hides::

for what it is worth, i only ask because i am looking forward to it... if that helps.

I'd like to say it will be released before the end of the world in December but I can't guarantee that.

This is the KoH PSF list.

Here's how it looks close up:

Those detailed descriptions are two A4 pages long. That's how much love and effort goes into the project.
So if any of you chaps from northern Africa would like to help us out it would be welcomed with open arms!

The greener the sheet the better for you - green color means, that the research PSF is completed.

Dominion of the Sword - Magyar Department - Coordinator, PSF research leader
The Great Conflicts - Magyar tribes researcher
Heiğinn Veğr: Total War- Magyar tribes and Kingdom of Hungary researcher

Edit: is Timbuktoo even within the DotS map? I'm not so sure we go that south in Africa...
