I got a paperback version of Herodotus' Histories.
I've gotten through about 20 pages since I got it a month ago. (I've been busy with school )
Anyway, has anyone out there read it before? If so, do you have any tips to read and understand it well?

Yeah I've already gone through a few, one came after Alyattes rebuilds the temple of Athena in Miletus, then Herodotus goes to story of Arion and the dolphin . Had almost no flow except for the fact Periandros was Corinthian, and the Corinthians told a story about Arion
I thought his description of India was pretty cool (gold-digging ants is hard to beat), i believe he also describes the Jains- he mentions some religious sect that can harm no animals or something like that; as well as some kind of unsavory sexual rituals.
