Default This girl knows her Mass Effect!

I just stumbled across "GAMERMD83" 's channel (LINK) and was blown away. I'd never seen nor heard of her before now... Not only is she a girl who greatly enjoys Mass Effect but she has approximately 14 hours of discussion on the characters, races, and universe of Mass Effect featured in her channel.

The information and how she presents it is quite interesting so you may want to check it out. I just started through her 4 part (1 hour) series on humanity in ME and learned quite a bit of interesting information and her commentary is great as well.

Agreed, but props to her for the time put into it, content quality, and knowledge she possesses. When she brings up things relevant to real world science related information she seems to know exactly what she's talking about in those fields as well.

What does she say about FTL and cloaking?

I thought she was pretty annoying. I love Mass Effect and I was bored.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say.

Considering the work she put into it she definitely deserved some more views so I thought I'd point the way

One thing she mentioned in the vid I watched that had escaped me was how the Arcturus Station is the major System's Alliance base that guards the only relay to our solar system in an area where several other Mass Relays reside. Presumably this locale should play a part in ME3 since it is the choke-point for the Reaper's travel either to or from our system. (I've stayed away from ME news so if this is an incorrect assumption don't tell me )

    Shoot everyone knows that.

FTL is accomplished by using Element Zero to give your ship negative mass, allowing it to go faster than light.

Cloaking is accomplished by using an oversized Element Zero core to project a localized gravity well in the direction you want your ship to travel, letting your ship fall into it (thus you don't have to use thrusters). Then when you use heat sinks for all of the other ship's systems, your ship is invisible to infrared sensors, which is how ships detect each other at the extreme distances of space.

I meant in regards to his comment about her bringing up things relevant to real world science. Those two things are the parts of ME that would be the measuring stick regarding her actual core of knowledge from a technical standpoint.

Also, visible spectrum cloaking...not the Normandy's stealth systems.

There isn't any visible spectrum cloaking that I recall? Most ships just don't rely on establishing visuals which is kind of hard at long ranges in space.

He's talking about infantry I believe, like Infiltrators and Phantoms.

I don't really know how that one works myself. I don't remember a codex entry from it right off hand.

I always find it moderately disturbing when a girl is -this- geeky.

I mean, more power to her if this is what she enjoys, and she seems to be one of the few women on youtube who can make vlogs and not get people to respond with TITS LOL.

But still. It reminds me of this one time I went to see Transformers 2 in the theatre and this girl on a row behind me knew all this about Decepticons, so I turned around and she was actually kind of hot, but then she mistook my inquisitiveness for interest and started telling me about all the different Starscream variants in each of the series' settings, like G1 Starscream vs some other.

And suddenly she wasn't that attractive anymore. And I'm a pretty big goddamn nerd, so go figure.

Yeah, I'll stick to Michio Kaku, thank you very much. If she wasn't a girl that likes Mass Effect, she wouldn't be getting half as much attention, if I had to gander a guess.
