Chapter-1. Unpacking Medieval 2 Total War

To unpack Medieval 2 Total War go in folder \SEGA\Medieval II Total War\tools\unpacker

Caution: before proceeding create backup

after unpacking, windows 7 user will find unpacked files in \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data.

(very important step) as soon as u complete unpacking delete two files,
1. data\descr_geography_new.txt
and 2. data\descr_geography_new.db

ok so i used the unpacker then it turns out that it didnt unpack anything so then my game screwed knowing that if i dont delete those two files the game would crash everytime i entered a battle. so now my battles would crash the game everytime and so i reinstalled MTW2 and the battles still crash my games
