Good video.
Although alarming how the creative director and brand director of CA are getting so excited about getting closer and closer to the modern era.

That Mike Simpson fellow is wearing the ugliest top I've ever seen.
Please please please please please please Do not go with WW1 or ACW in the next title, PLEASE.
That said, game looks good, except for the no bayonets thing, looks like it'll be great deals of fun.
I don't even get why people even want a WW1 TW, the gameplay style of the series doesn't fit with how the war was fought at all. That said, nice trailer and I can't wait for more.
I'm not crazy, I'm the only one who's not crazy!
Nice video, lots of interesting stuff.
Thanks for posting it, +rep!
Concerning how they seem so excited about how close to the modern age they are. They really couldn't do WW1 justice yet, for the love of god I hope they keep it under 1900 and away from anything fantasy. American Civil War would be better, they could do that better than WW1, but I'd still much prefer to see another Rome or Medieval or hell even another Empire..just done right this time.
Very nice, and it's a SERIES!!! +rep
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.
Very interesting video. Particularly the talk of it being the latest historical period they've done for a Total War game. A sign of things to come? Vis-à-vis a First World War TW game in the future perhaps?

Dear gaijin gamemakers– It’s really not too hard to pronounce “samurai” correctly. It’s not “SAM-urai”, like “Sam-I-am”. It’s “SA-murai”, like “Saw V”. I mean, really, it’s not going to confuse your customers to actually pronounce your own title correctly, and you’ll sound less… ignorant.
Even if this is great news, because I'm really glad Total War is getting closer to our modern days and this new chapter is quite interesting with awesome new features (can't wait to play French troops in battle) it's still sad to see it's all about money...
Stand alone game of Shogun II means one thing = more money! Give them rifles, iron ships and new icons and you got a new game...
Of course it's not about the fact you have to pay, because it's like a new game with so many new features. It's just that I feel betrayed with Shogun II...
First you buy the expensive game and get stuck with it if you don't improve it with the DLC and new add-on campaign. You have to pay to get the new map!!! Worst, you even had to pay to get the blood mod ROFL
And yet, they didn't give any tools to mod at all... It's all about money, modding is dead.
So you bought an unfinished game and have to pay to complete it, this is madness.
And worst, many players like me can't play the multiplayer! So many bugs, still impossible to join a game (trust me, I asked everywhere and did many things like reinstall) So why should I buy this stand alone if I still can't play on multiplayer with the former gamer?
I still don't get why people are thinking it either HAS to be WWI or ACW.
There's far more collective history during the 19th century in the world than just the ACW.
