He's named just "Yusuf", because of M2TW engine that gives names more or less randomly. Thus, putting "Salah al-Din Yusuf" into descr_names.txt theoretically may result in appearance of a second Salah al-Din Yusuf.
Besides, calling the Sultan just Yusuf was supposed to be quickly supplemented by a new system of naming (I won't disclose any details of that). We haven't finished it so far, but it's possible you'll see that as a new feature in 2.4.
You can change the name in descr_strat, but keep in mind that a new name has to be related to contents of descr_names.txt and names.txt.strings.bin.
We have reverted to vanilla portraits.
thank you .,..... great game !! good luck with 3.0 !!
depends on the dating of the miniatures
many Asians migrated and settled in the middle east
some works date from the Seljuk period while
others from the post mongol era (like the one your showing)
while some other paintings are just following an artistic ideal
pale skin, narrow eyes
i know that central asian turks(like seljuks in persia) have these physical appearances
Joins BC 2.3.2, noticed some illogical behavior of units in combat.
1. spearmen are useless before the cavalry;
2. maybe archers shooting from the snowflakes instead of arrows with metal tips. arrows do not have a corresponding effect.
3. sometimes a simple peasant militia more powerful than the feudal cavalry of the higher layers, with exellent equipments, or even the Royal
Guard! that's stupidity!
lose the desire to play !
This has nothing to do with 2.3.2, because the patch doesn't introduce any changes to units' statistics or battlefield performance. If you refer to units' behaviour, then that's something related to previous version (although 2.3 doesn't introduce anything new to EDU or battle AI, as well.
Autosuggestion?
hey hey hey wait! wait! niiiiiiiiiice!
Hey guy's is there an area of recruitment (AOR) sub mod for this like there was on 2.2?
I was searching randomly for different factions in BC, and I found this which I think is worth giving a try:
Warriors of the Faith were warbands or warrior guilds. Some were just glorified bands of brigands. In 12th century in Damascus, Ibn Jubayr wrote of an organization called the Nubuya that fought Shi'a Muslims in Syria. The Abbasid Caliph an-Nasir (1158–1225) approved of and supported futuwwa. In 1182 he organized a warrior futuwwa order that was for all practical purposes a knightly order with mounted warriors. He became the head of this order and gathered ruling princes and other notables to its membership. It continued for some time after the death of its founder.
I'm sorry because the source is wikipedia, but I think it cannot be that bad.
Where can I d/l the mod? This mod looks very interesting, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to d/l it. You have a link for the patch, but not the whole mod. I did find a link in another thread for 2.3, but couldn't find one for 2.3.2.
What if some major characters, like Saladin, were replaced with the special character versions like in the vanilla Crusades campaign?
I posted a question earlier but received no answer so I'll try again. I noticed that the Ghorid royalty and generals use vanilla portrait pictures. I seem to remember that in 2.02 there were some sort of historical pictures being used for factions. Was this changed in the patch or are the historical portraits limited to only certain factions? Is it a bug perhaps?
