Default More Crusader/Hospitaller Units for Catholic Factions

Couldnt find any Topics about this so sorry if there is some.

In the next Version could you make it so if (Say) England captured citys like Antioch,Edessa,Jerusalem,Acre, could you make it so they can recuit more Crusader,Hospitaller and Other amazing Units.

I Played The Retrofit Mod for awhile and when you captured Edessa you got Units like 'Edessan Guard' 'Knights of Edessa" And when you captured Jerusalem,Acre,Antioch and Gaza and probz others you got 'Templar Sergeants' 'Hospitaller Sergeants' 'Knights Templar' 'Knights Hospitaller' and other units.

This made the game more fun because using the same units all over the map is kinda boring . so if you could use Crusader units while defending the Holy Lands would make it more fun.

I Know theres already a faction called Jerusalem with all these units but on my campaigns they always get beaten up and then ive gotta go take Jerusalem as a crusade and defend them with my units which are amazing i love there details but id perfer having Crusader Units to defend Jerusalem and citys around it .

This doesnt just have to be for england all Catholic factions could use them .#

If you Agree this would be fun then leave a nice comment if you dont then shh .

((Yes Yes im new here but ive played all the Total War games for many many years and i mean many lol, just didnt bother with this site untill i started playing Good Medieval Mods .))

SS has a lot of Area of Recruitment units that are only available in certain areas, so you won't be playing with the same units all over the map. Most of the European factions can already recruit the Templars and Hospitallers. The rest of those units are reserved for the Crusader States faction. If you want to play, with those units play with the Crusader States.

yeah i support you. If you play with other nations too (and have realistic armies=no archer spam, realisticly there were like 2 archer units per army, max 5) you find they have COOl units too! Try (custom battle) Crusader states, take plenty of different kind of units ("all" era) and give them best armour upgrades.. ING cool!!

Depends reallly. As England as a minimum I have 7 Longbows while as France i might have 3-4 Crossbows.

I Will try other factions, but at this moment of time im enjoying my english campaign, and my English army normaly Consists of... when i can build full armys.

    1 General/Family Member
    8 Infantry (Love Serjeants)
    6 Archers(Yeoman or Retinue)
    4 Cavelry
    1 Artillary

i find this army to work well for english but then sometimes when im fighting factions that rely on cavalry eithen france ill have like 10 Archers to just shoot the hell out of them lol.

English main units are archers so why not use them

    knights weren't used that frequently

if anything it should be harder to obtain knight units instead of the spam we see of them

In the English army Knights were a minority in relation to the Longbowmen and Men at Arms.

    @Roman Killer

If you use RR and BGR there is no knight spam. Throughout most of the Middle Ages, knights were the main fighting force in Western and Central Europe so you should reexamine your facts. In the English army Men-at-Arms served the purpose of knights, because the English were involved in frequent foreign wars.

Didnt see the point of Opening a new Topic so ill ask here.

On my English campaign which is going really well i already have all of britain including Irland all of France and all of Spain, and im also launching attacks on Norway but my next target is Itally.

But ive been checking the Custom battle thing to see what other units England has and i dont seem to have 'Dismounted Kings men' 'Heavy Swordsmen' 'Feudal Foot Knights' 'Halberd Men at Arms.

Im playing with Disable Real Recuitment so i should get all the units when some of my citys/Castles are fully built, i have quite a few bully built citys/castles. so when do i get these units?

The Disable Real Recuitment option doesn't work. I think there is a submod that makes it work though.

Disable RR works in 6.4. The submod was included in it.
