retrofit mod problem

I have downloaded the retrofit mod 1.0 and the 2.0 MP (do I need both?) but when I launch the mod, it doesnt find kingdoms. I HAVE M2TW Gold and have the game installed. why cant it find kingdoms???

edit: I have none of the expansions installed, only the main game.

Kingdoms + patch 1.5 is required for retrofit.

And no, you don't need both. Retrofit mod was made to apply 1.5 changes to vanilla game. RetroMP has all the 1.5 changes + more balanced units. It was made primarily for multiplayer, but there is nothing stopping you from playing the campaign in RetroMP. You may uninstall Retrofit 1.

You need at least one Kingdoms Campaigns installed to play any Kingdoms Mods. Retrofit is essentially a redone Vanilla but it's still a Kingdoms Mod.

oooh, so it WILL apply to the MAIN campaign map, but I still need one of the expanisons, have I got it now?

Yes. Install any of the Expansion Campaigns and then the Retrofit Mod will be able to find Kingdoms.

Do you have windows vista or 7 installed? Is UAC enabled?

Seems like you have an answer for the installer issue already.

To clarify Retrofit and Retrofit MP. You don't need both, and the MP version is designed mainly for balanced online multiplayer battles. It is possible to install both of them since they use different mod paths.
