Default UNIT PREVIEW AND DISCUSSION - Gahurchlai Campaign

    Right...'ello all

I started a new unit preview thread for this....this post will be filled slowly with many of the units for the smaller campaign we're working on; the Tale of The Ghaurchlai Wars, or the 'Starfall Genocide' as some scholars know it.

This will include units for the campaign, some of which represent a faction that's no longer 'around' in the main campaign, and will mostly included in the main campaign, but not totally. I'll post new threads for other aspects of the campaign too, to explain properly what it's about.

Anyway, I will show what's done possibly soon. First a teaser of the Khezdruli faction - unfinbished, as the body underneath the exo-armour needs redoing, but you'll get the idea. I won't name it yet, but it's not a fancy unit as such, it just hurts a lot. I call it my armoured Doozer.

I'll come back and delete some of this and make proper entries soon.

They have some nice heavy armour. They are like some dragonborn abrahams tanks.

Several units will be equipped with similar mail, and the breastplate will feature strongly, but altered - the unit I'm about to show has a similar thingy, but you'll find the Dwarves LOVE colour coding their mail - this is largely because it means they use difference metals, which issue differing challenges to the makers, and they also like to colour code their soldiers simply because their daylight eye-sight is fairly poor, but reacts well to colours, especially those of metals, to which they have a strong affinity.

Also, generally, they see things like fabrics, which feature strongly elsewhere as an un-necessary pain; they don't sew or knit or make fabrics en-masse, as other races, and what they do for those they wear day to day is largely bought from elves. In their stone homes, the rocks are heated and they tend to wear a type of silk woven by Gnomes from underground insectoid creatures the far-wanderers herd.

NOTE: If Gnome is confusing you, it's a machine that is an automaton, programmed as such to do a task, normally fairly simply, although are vastly complex of course. The fabric weaving Gnomes are about 1 foot tall, with extended arms and various tools on wheel-arms thatspin at a rate that allows the cutting and spinning to take place at speed and great accuracy.

Thanks. Dwarvies SHOULD be pretty cool really. I've spent a long time trying to think of a decent way to do them, and I think that the 'tank' type look is the best. I think the Dwarves in DB are pretty odd, and they're not hugely concerned with any form of expansion for base reasons, but god help the world when they run out of resources, or at least deplete them to an agreed level that was made at the treaty with the elves a LONG time ago....THEN they will stop at nothing to find new homes.

Basically, you attack the Dwarves, then you take on something nasty. If you play them, then they have had leaders that have evolved them beyond the norm before, and will do so again - and that would be you! Refire the Gnome forges, instill conscription and wage war with an army that's truly naughty, and see what happens

Ta...I try to give each race some form of basis that makes sense, even if it's somewhat offbeat from the normal fanatsy stereotypes.

Right. The third of the dwarf units for the Ghaur campaign; these are heavy duty ones, the bestest there are in melee, but will come with a heavy missile unit variety, which should prove 'interesting' as long as they are donded finely.....they will probably have ley-blades for the melee variety, but are using a Squeak Inc weapon at present.

You can tell from the arms they are majorly assisted by Ley Cells, so they are TRULY nasty.

    How about from their nose?
Just joking. I have got to say, you have outdone yourself. These are the best dwarfs I have seen!
