VS. Empire

Just wondering how does this mod compare to the empire counterpart

And the shogun 2 counterpart as well.

I find them all to be great games. Napoleon to Empire, my thoughts on that is that Napoleon is more... polished and brushed up. It doesn't lag at the same graphicssettings, the gameplay is more fluent and so.
Empire on the other hand has a huge map(America, Europe, India)
I would like to tell you to go with either one of these of which the time period is more to your liking. Then install Darthmod for the corresponding game.

Shogun 2 is great aswell. I have to leave for the dentist so I can't elaborate on that now. They are all fun, at least in my opinion.

^agreed, though i'd like to further point out that NTW engine definitively brings more "usable" battles. it's not as advanced as we hoped for but at least we now have a working-usable squares.
