I was lazing around today thinking to myself: "Why the hell am I never on TWC anymore?" The funny thing is, I asked myself the opposite question before my large and more recent mini hiatuses. Don't get me wrong, I love this place, but it's a serious time waster. So, I figured I'd make a thread that would allow me to pass on some knowledge, whatever.

First things first. If you're still in school, and you're spending more than an hour a day on this site for non modding purposes, stop it. Trust me, you need to work on your social life if you're still in school. Why? Well dummy, that social life has a return investment, TWC doesn't. If there's one thing I regret, it's that I spent too much time here. While I was expanding my knowledge base or defending Socialism in the D&D, I was losing time I could have been spending getting in touch with people.

Some of you might be wondering why you should care. Maybe you've given up on having a quality social life. Stop it. If you don't enjoy yourself with the friends you have, get new ones. If you aren't as close to your friends as you'd like to be, spend time with them. If there's a girl you're interested in, talk to her. Don't make the same mistake I did by gluing yourself in front of a screen all day. Get out and live.

As I was saying, Social Life comes first. This is almost always true, barring maybe if you're married and/or have kids, or if you're in Antarctica. And that last one is questionable.

So there you have it, stop being Anti-Social and get out there. I'm not going to listen to "But I have friends heeeeere!" No. Don't be stupid. There are a lot of cool people here, but unless they're going to show up at midnight and help you through a nervous breakdown, or be your wing-man next time you go pick up chicks, or rent out an apartment with you, they don't count as part of your Social Life. Not even close.

This blog is going to deal primarily with broad topics, like life lessons or philosophy, and maybe even current political issues like SOPA. So if there's anything you want me to cover, let me know.

There's one major issue I have with religion, particular organized religion, and that's the fact that most believers don't have the logical reason to believe that would requisite their belief in said religion. By this I mean that many believe something they don't have a good reason to.

To put forth an example, young children come into a religion and believe it because they are told to. I think we can agree that at that point they don't have a logical reason to believe in that religion, right? So we have to go further. What is a good reason to believe in a particular religion? Well, I took the time to break the logical following of a religion into steps.

1. Witnessing of supernatural phenomenon(s)
2. Indication that supernatural phenomenon(s) were caused by one or more "living" entities (god(s))
3. Evidence that aforementioned entity/entities can recreate phenomenon(s)
4. Confession of entity/entities to being god(s) in a particular religion*
5. Irrefutable proof that the above was not induced by dreaming/drugs/herbs/hallucinations/delusions

*Requirement for belief in religion going beyond requirements for belief in higher power(s)

Seem agreeable? It should, all these steps are necessary at some point if you really want to say your belief is logical. That doesn't mean you can't continue on with your beliefs, but I want all of you out there to keep these steps in mind for future reference. Thank you.

Been a while, I actually didn't mean to completely cut off my coming to TWC, I also didn't mean to come back to TWC. As they say though, nobody escapes this place. They all come back sooner or later.

I've been pretty busy with real life stuff, and I won't be doing the debating I've done in the past. I'll probably end up providing more questions than answers, if any answers. But hey.

So yeah, hello again, hope I've not been completely forgotten, and sorry for the boring blog post

I'm having trouble finding a good opener, so let me start off by saying friendship is magic.

Anyone who frequents the D&D knows that insults and hateful comments are an all too common phenomenon. And it isn't just new posters, but veterans, and even citizens and moderators that dish out the pain. Now let me just say that I have thrown out my share of insults in my time. In fact, insulting others consisted of my only real infraction.

You're probably used to hearing "words hurt" and about all the pain these words can cause, so I'm not going to bother.

I just want to let you know how stupid it is to throw out spiteful comments like that. I mean really, think about it. When has insulting somebody ever helped you? Unless you're a politician, I'm willing to bet slim to never. In fact, insulting someone activates their natural defense mechanisms, and if you're trying to persuade them of something, you've crushed your chances of persuading them.

Of course, in the heat of the moment you probably just felt they were below you right? They couldn't understand your position, so they deserved that insult. No, that's silly. If they don't understand you, either you're not explaining it the right way or they simply have different values than you.

So please, don't insult people, it just makes you look stupid.
