I have a question. I just finished John Julius Norwich's Kingdom in the Sun and the Normans in the South. I read that the Normans ( Under count Roger) already used Muslim regiments from Sicily (to quell rebellions in south Italy) . I can't see them in your roster, only during the hohenstaufen period. Intentional?

Under king Roger II muslim were used (but in a very few number) in the norman army...and most of them were muslim catholicized...so not exactly "muslim wariors" as Lucera's saracens...

But King Roger II died in 1154 (just 4 year after the year in wich my roster begins) and after his death the sicilian Muslim communities were mainly isolated beyond an internal frontier which divided the south-western half of the island from the Christian north-east...and muslim were also repressed with the "Longobard progroms" starting from 1160...King William the Good tried to hold this progrom but he failed and his protection over muslim communities ended with his death in 1189...

After the 1197, sicily became a battlegrounds between papal forces and german forces...and, in the first time, muslim were allied of german forces...

but then, many muslims rised up (driven by Muhammad b Abba) conquering many territories in sicily...

So in 1221 muslim rebels were repressed by Frederic II that, rather than exterminate them, began the first deportations of Muslims to Lucera in Apulia.

The annihilation of Islam in Sicily was completed by the late 1240s, when the final deportations to Lucera took place...

after this, ironically, Muslim became an elite regiment loyal to Frederic II till the angevin invasion...

So we have decided to add muslim just to hohenstaufen roster...

Very nice job there! I love these kinda projects ,small and 'easy' to attain and applicable to a lot of other mods. Also as historically correct as possible. Seeing this makes a replay of sicily worth!

Indeed, i am surely to play a Sicilian campaign in the upcoming Dominion of the Sword and enjoy the nice progression from Normans, to Hohenstaufens, to Angevins and finally Aragonese.

thx to all friend, during this month i will be busy with exams, but in march i will continue to make the sequel of CSUR...It will be named "CSUR: The Reign Divided" and will have the entire roster of Kingdom of Trinacria and Kingdom of Naples between 1300 and 1400...and maybe, if i have time i will continue till the 1500...

it's a sub-mod for SS, that's trying to improve it's aspect in units / regions / buildings and just about everything, I'm hoping I can use CSUR units to help those currently still mostly ugly vanilla Sicilian units look better.

Probably will use a few to cross over to other factions (such as Peasants and those Mercenary spearmen, but only if they are historically realistically crossed over.

So may I use it?
