Sparkly men with stars in battle - what is this?

Ive just noticed that some times my men sparkle and glow (as entire units, not just single men) and have little stars popping off them. I have never seen this before, I will try taking a screen shot next time i see it.

Any idea what this is guys?

Oh? Its been there since vanilla. Its the game telling you that your unit just earned a chevron, on the spot.

...............or a medic just appeared and are healing your units.

Really? Wow. I have never ever seen that before haha, and I have played a lot of RTW (Vanilla, RTR and DarthMod all had several hundred hours each).

It can be turned off in the preferences file if you want.

I think it means the unit just got an experience point (chevron)

As Siimus Maximus has posted - it shows that the unit just gained some experience.
