Excessive use of Obsidian is also prohibited.

"Excessive" obsidian is making entire rooms or tunnels out of Obsidian.
It's easy to get through obsidian keep your panties dry

It's not really unequally advantageous. Sure, it would make it extremely hard to get to the safe zone or enemies in a war, but that's the price you pay for being extremely hard to reach in return. It makes it harder to stage offensive operations, but makes you much more defensible and a less likely target. It'd really just balance things out from where they are now, because at the moment, if you hypothetically made a base 100,000 blocks from spawn, you'd be unable to be attacked even through the nether. On the other hand, you could use your portal to instantly pop into the safe zone and attack other people with no difficulty. But as stated before, that would ruin any faction settled over, say, 4000 blocks from the nearest regional portal. It might be a (very) long term option to consider, but for now its unequally advantageous, especially as the ones who did abuse the system would benefit.

Ban faction portals? No excessive obsidian? I really wanted to make obsidian walls. OH THE HUMANITY!
Oh. Well I think this war will bring this server into chaos. The 2 sides should amass an army at a location and destroy each other. Settling this war, I had to get involved because I have been informed the IceBandits live nearby my base. However, I wish that everyone gets tired and the war ends. How did this war even start?
I'm not saying the rule is unequally advantageous, I'm saying the change is. (Focusing on us) Do you think any of us would have marched out 10000 blocks if we didn't think there would be a portal?I'm not a particular fan of our distance, but at this stage removing it would render most of our current work useless in the long term. Public portals are a better option - it removes the advantage of isolation but prevents our current base and months of work from being rendered highly unpractical and wasted, respectively.
Either way, they need some serious review.
You don't have to get involved... and this is the first really serious conflict the server has seen, why do you want it to end? If you want to do your own thing, here's a perfect opportunity while everyone is distracted.

The Hostage Crisis
After arriving at the base of Palamaine and spying on Arriona in preparation for any future war plans, the Dwarven Chancellor Austin944 and Gendarme-Commander Hilary_Duff were smiled upon by their personal Dwarven gods. Palamainian King Arriona left to the Safe Zone using Palamaine's faction portal, logging offline upon departure. Soon after, Palamainian MP logged on. The Chancellor and Commander immediately took MP hostage, him being outmatched in both weaponry and superior numbers. A simple request was given to MP; show us to your public faction portal and let us use it, said the Commander. Despite being so near to death's door, MP could not oblige them for he did not know the portal's location. King Arriona was given an ultimatum on steam. Not wanting his brethren's blood on his hands, King Arriona logged in and obliged. The Dwarves used the faction's portal and arrived back at the Safe Zone. Mead was had.

KNAI
Glory to the Dwarves! We have shown our abilities to navigate the entire Nether and also to be merciful to our enemies. KNAI!
I understand the reloading of the chunk around their portal, but the parts of their bridge was affected by a different explosion entirely. That should not have been reloaded.

I've not been on to see any of this TNT stuff but just now checking this thread and from a neutral standpoint seeing legitimate points to better the PvP of a server disregarded by a childish moderator is just embarrising, I'm tempted to downvote the server and post on the MC forum thread so people know there are mods like this active.. I feel it the only way to change things for the better unfortunatly. A shamefur dispray, certain people need to reflect.
