question: should i make regular, conscript AND assault or should i just make ONE infantry unit and add grenades to all of the later units?
this is concerning the minor factions, which had not so many different units. of course germany and france had many differnt unit types.
i need your advice. opinion 2 would be the faster one.

Make the three types for all factions. You dont even have to change uniforms or whatever, just different stats and sizes.
im going to use an individual model for every faction. always the most fitting

Yeah but you wont have to use individual model for conscript, regular and assault. WW1 marked the zenith of uniform standardization, every soldier within a nation had the same uniform.
Nah, scratch that, i forgot France's evolution of uniform (darkred&darkblue -> darkblue -> khaki), and the vast array of soldiers (especially in balkans) having old uniforms.
edit: for how will the download be unavailable?
i did so all the time, so i thought i would be easier to make only one unit.....
i downloaded 2 pdf books about french uniform evolution through ww1
early period:
infantry(blue jacket, kepi, red throusers)
mountain troops(the same, but with a hat)
dragoons(blue, red uniform & old-fashioned helmet)
chasseurs a pied(completely blue uniform)
chasseurs a pied mountain batallion(the same + hat)
chasseurs a cheval(same as a pied)
chasseurs a cheval mountain batallion(same as a pied)
you see there is a big amount of different units, just for early period!
i dont know, i think the servers are overloaded because of the crash of megaupload...

And thats only the early period? Great, means alot of work, for France at least.
a lots of work which takes at least 1-2 days...cause the models are already finished.
central forces basicliy finished. does anyone know something about german or austrian jägers or other marksmen or special units?

That they died a vain's death, along with the rest of the soldiers participating in this war?
sure they were massacred by artillery, but much less than others. they had a longer range than the rest of infantry.
grenadiers are useless! they are going to be dead until they passed half of the way to the enemies units.

So what will then be the purpose of grenadiers?
maybe we will include em when we manage to make a building which looks like a fort-wall in ww1. then they will be placed in the "trenches".
im looking for a possibility to make field walls deployable for infantry units, therewith they can hide behind them. they will get a sandbag texture....you know anyone who is an expert in this section?

Nnnnnnot really, but as far as i know, no one has made possible the deployment of walls or such, and i think that "trenches" in ETW arent exactly moddable.
no trenches arent possible but you could mod a kind of dirt-hills. and forts are possible because they just were dirtwalls with artillery deployments included.
german units:
landsturm militia
infantry(field cap)
infantry(pickelhaube)
late infantry(stahlhelm)
jäger(skirmishers)
gebirgsjäger(mountain troops)
uhlans
dragoons
howitzers(unfortunetally no new models....)
machine guns(heavily increased puckle guns)
trench mortars(grenade throwing artillery)

Ah, does your list include the timeframe? Because i dont think i should be able to train Infantry with field cap at the late stages of war. Maybe the units should be unavailable (although not disbanding them automatically).

you will be able to recruit the early units also in later times, because in the last consequences of the war the factions mobilised every man and equipped them with everything they found. especially germany...
i could make new models, if you give me a converter and a reconverter from rigid_mesh to ms3d and vice versa.
