Default Autoplay application has stopped working

Asking this before but think it was a bit swamped over in the main thread. I get the above message everytime I try a Dm app start, despite installing it as recommended, and wondered if there could be anything else I'm doing wrong? Thanks

Maybe you need to update your windows to have NET Framework higher than 3.0.
    Can you check that?

Maybe your antivirus is blocking it. What is your antivirus?

Norton, but I turned it off for installation and tried doing the same before running it, to no avail...Is it still possible to play with 40 units per stack through the old fashioned user. script?

You cannot open the launcher at all? That is very a strange and unique problem. Can you download the 1.8 version, follow the simple installation instructions and tell me if it plays for you?
You can at least use the official shortcut and if you want to play with 40 unit saves you must manually copy them to the game save folder and also manually put the 40 unit UI pack to the data game folder.

No, it just crashes straight away...no luck with 1.8 either, but if I can do it manually that's fine, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything by not being able to use the launcher. Thanks!

Got the same problem, I reinstalled Napoleon and downloaded the 1.8 version. It crashes right after I doubleclick the shortcut. (using Win7)
