I have exactly the same problem, running Win7 64 with UAC disabled, no steam version of Kindoms/M2, was there any solution to this?

Nevermind, I installed the patch and hotfixes again, and it works, I propably just

ed up something by myself.

This part was hinting at a wrong install:

Yes, it works like a charm now. 10+ turns with tons of battles without a single CTD

I have one issue that I would be immensely grateful to have solved. Over all the mod works fine however when I try to fight a battle in the campaign it begins to load than the screen turns black saying unspecified error game will now exit. I have been unable to discover the reason for this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded and installed the mod through Gigantus's installer and tried it a pair of times (both custom battles) in 1.5 version; all worked well.
Then I downloaded and installed patch 005 (downloaded as a torrent) and installed it as asked; now each time I start the game an error saying "File "kingdoms.exe" can not be found. Check the file name is correct, then retry." appears and the game switches off. [Consider that the message is in my native language, Italian; I translated it]
PLEASE, tell me what can I do! I play WH in the tabletop game and I really would like to try this mod!

You seem to have installed the patch into the wrong directory. The BAT file in the root folder of RodG is calling for the kingdoms.exe file. To check where the BAT is, right click the desk top short cut, choose 'properties', click the 'short cut' tab (should be open as default) and then click 'open file location'.

This should lead you to this directory: ...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Rage_of_dark_Gods

Please check this and report back.

listen to this one: this is what i have problem with now with my new computer that i buildt myself and play TATW with MOS for M2TW, Stainless Steel, Skyrim, WOW, Dota2 etcetcetcetc on, so the computer is fine i have just done something wrong with the installation of this one that i didnt do the last time...

I pray that someone can help me, i have played CoW before on my old computer but i have a new one now, i have intalled and played M2TW kingdoms on it and its fully patched, i have also played TATW with MOS but when i installed:
CoW 1.5 + 1.5.1 patch
+ CoW Eng (unit desc etcetc in english)
and lastly the CoW Voice
I start up the mod, here is when it gets interesting, i get through the loading of the mod, then intro, get through that to, now i get a new loading screen with the loading bar that loads up completley, here is were i should get to the menu of CoW but instead i get an windows error sound and a small window in the middle of the screen with no text, only an option to click ok, once i do that game crashes to desktop

I installed it to my "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer

when i try to run it as admin i also get an error windows message saying basically it cannot find the kingdoms.exe Check so that you gave the right name and try again.

Also i get an error message in the command window saying:

C:\Windows\System32>del \Q ".\data\text\*.bin"
Can not find the searchpath.

C:\Windows\System32>del \Q ".\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\*rwm"

Can not find the searchpath.

C:\Windows\System32>cd "..\.."

C:\>start kingdoms.exe (HERE IS A STRANGE SYMBOL, IT MIGHT BE AN @)mods\call_of_warhammer.cfg

Also: the tips on the loadingscreens are still in russian, i think they should be in english since i have installed the two language packs

Can not find the searchpath.

That means that the folder doesn't exist.
That means the installation isn't correct.

Right click on the desktop icon, choose 'properties' from the drop menu, then click on 'open file location' and have a look if the folders exist. The ones mentioned in the error message:
data\text
data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

If they don't then you need to repeat your installation. Did the installation complete successfully?

yes to all, and i used both the desktop shortcut and the C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer\Warhammer file to start it, i can play TATW MOS without any problems at all still, but what about the fact that it cannot find kingdoms.exe? i wondered abit about that one and i tried doubble clicking on kingdoms.exe in my M2TW folder, the same thing that happens to this mod happens to M2TW when i start M2TW with the kingdoms.exe file, can only start M2TW kingdoms if i choose the launcher.exe and i start the M2TW if i choose medieval2.exe, dunno if that has anything to do with it

edit: i actually reinstalled this mod 2 times now and still the same thing happens, and as i said before even if i installed the two english packs its still shows tooltips in russian O.o? any clues or ideas what ive done wrong?, in the installation it wants to put CoW in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer

but i allways change that to the correct folder were my M2TW installation is

C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer

i guess im doing that right because thats what i did last time aswell, so it gets to were the game is actually located

If it says 'can't find kingdoms.exe' then your installation is in the wrong folder. Browse to your CoW folder and make a screenshot like the one here. This one is from my version, but it shouldn't matter.

I strongly doubt its in the wrong place since that is were TATW is aswell, along with the kingdoms campaigns, americas, tutons etcetc

I uninstalled CoW again and going to isntall it again to see if its working when im not using the language packs, not that i know russian but i will probably see if the text in the menu is in russian or not

update, the game runs when i have only installed CoW 1.5, there is no text on the menu, probably because it has to do with russian keyboard or settings or something, anyway, i get into the game in 1.5 but once i install the patch 1.5.1, the game crashes like i described above

Now its working, i now installed the two english translations on top of the non working patch 1.5.1, and it now works with english everywere in perfect harmony, i redownloaded the eng voice and eng translations aswell before i installed them.

that is what has happened now, the faction desctiption and other parts are in russian while some options to the campaign are in english. ive uploaded more pictures for you to look at in awe... this is pathetic i cant get it to work and i cannot run it in admin mode still because it cannot find kingdoms.exe

This is puzzling: if you were able to make these pictures then the game worked - which means the 'cannot find kingdoms.exe' message shouldn't come.

I would suggest to install my language patch once more - it should be the only one you need.

Edit: the non existent text in the menu is due to Russian text, somehow that font (size) cannot display cyrillic letters.

I just found that one like 4 minutes ago myself, it did not help im afraid

maybe i just need the description.txt files that are in english. Im no genius at this (far from it) and im not sure what im on about now but as a suggestion, isnt there files called, faction.descr.txt, unit.descr.txt that gives the info that are currently, for some reason, in russian? maybe i need the english ones

You can save yourself some time and simply download and install my version - your problem and others like that are the main reasons why I made it.
Run this tutorial to avoid VirtualStore first and then you should be all set.
Simply download the torrent or use the alternate links, install. Download the patch and quick fixes, install in numerical order, patch first.

Make sure your path is pointed to the Medieval II Total War folder (and NOT the mods folder) and you will be playing.

PS - your core speed is good (only one core is being used) and combined with decent graphic card you should have a pleasant game.

ok i will try that, wierd tho that it worked on my previous computer

quickie question, your patch post, you linked 4 attachements at the bottom of it, that all i need right?
im downloading the patch and the main game now with torrent but i was just curious to the 3 attachements apart from the patch attachement, i need those 3 ones aswell?

P.S yes my whole computer is pretty good, i have no problem running most games on the market on the maximum settings hehe

. Im very happy that i got my hands on the new 6 series card =) its not a 680 Lightning but then again it meets my demands at alot better price than what i would have had to give for the 680

Ehi guys i have a big problem! Since this morning i've been playing without problems at the 1.5 version. Then i decided to try to install the 1.5.1 and i could not see any differences and so i decided to unistall everything and reinstall all. Now, after some attempt, i can start the game and play with saved games but i can't start a new campaign: when i click on the "start" button in the main campaing screen the game goes back to the screen where you can choose between tutorial,campaign etc etc....can someone help me please?
