    Default Co-op campaign?

Hey guys, just one question - Is the co-op good in Shogun? I am asking because I am not sure to recommend it to a friend, because we were very disappointed with N:TW MP. I heard about some desyncs or stuff? So how does S2 score in MP Campaigns? Is it worth buying(my friend will buy it only to play MP with me, he isnt interested in SP at all, so take that in mind)?

Co Op is buggy and is pretty much the same as what you get in Napoleon and Empire. Although the Rise of the Samurai Co Op is a bit more advanced in that it allows you to take control of linked clans with common goals.

In theory and practice, Co Op is great fun, until about turn 50 when it falls apart and starts to desync.
There are workarounds, although my current game requires my co cop partner to send me his save every single turn. This would be ok, but saves are around 50 meg, so we use Drop Box and it takes a bit to upload.

The main problem is the lack of support and information. Almost like the Co Op programmer at CA has gone on extended leave since the Empire Co Op Beta and they havn't fixed any of the issues that started way back then.

The workaround of sending your save could easily be implemented into the code. But instead CA release more DLC in form of blood packs, clans/units we already have but can't use and extra campaigns. BTW The blood pack has since been withdrawn in Australia, because when tiny animated samurai bleed, somewhere in the world a fairy dies.

I figured that by disabling steam community in game, Shogun 2 actually runs better. WTF? Why didn't CA tell me that when it was released.

I guess for all my about CA and the bugs in Shogun, I still can't help but really like the game. It is certainly worth getting to play co op with your friend. Ie Steam Sales.
You are the best thing to happen to me since this whole campaign.
You know I come here to conquer Italy, because I thought they were all small.
You know, I hear they was really tiny guys...

When I played with brother that Shogun 2 CO-Campaign. It was fun as like single campaign. I don't see any wrong in that, just wish your friends internet good if one game crash, then crash your too.

CO-OP short never long, Legendary recommended top notch experience and good campaigns are the ones you lose and have to restart many times before hitting it off.

50 turns is a long time to long a good coop campaign reach 30-40 turns. and trust me thats not a short campaign.

Lol. I am playing domination with my bro. I am 10 turns in and I can see what you mean.
At least you can pass time waiting for your turn by controlling the AI during battles, or participate with gifted units during a battle. Those are nice touches.

Had my first crash too. Bandwidth was sucked up with HD streaming on other pcs on network. Hit x4speed in battle and bam! Crashed.

You cant control AI in CO-OP only in Head to Head. in my Co-op campaigns i have turn time on 3 minutes and battle time on 20 mins it gives a nice solid tempo.

You can control the AI fighting your partner in battles if you set the game correctly.

Me & my brother played multiplayer campaign for a bit & it was good without crashes &
the like but I guess we didn't play for all that long so perhaps it may have just been a
    matter of time.

Definitly agree we want this multiplayer campaign System to be fixed.

I played shogun 2 And rise of the samurai only in mp coop campaign ( in legendary ) and i ve got more than 400 hours of timeplay.

I hope this desync pb will be solved soon. Because I ve been playing mp campaign since empire beta and really this desync pb annoyed us in etw , ntw and now shogun 2. It s time for fixing it

They need to shift some attention away from avatar conquest to the Multiplayer campaigns. Because the Multiplayer campaigns are realy the "main part of the game" and its being treated secondary when you can play 4 player campaign using Three turn system. Team 1 turn team 2 turn and computer. Total war will strike big!

I've played a lot of co-op and verses campaigns with a friend, and they've been an absolute blast.

It does desync/crash infrequently, but save often and it won't be a problem.
