    Default Carthago economy

    Hello all,

I am playing as Carthago on VH/VH. After several turns I am left without any money as my cities, big and small (majority of them) do not make income. To make the long story short - how one can get income playing as Carthago? I've raised the taxes, I've disbanded most of the troops, etc - it does not help...
    Thanks for any advice.

Im pretty sure the game is balanced for M/M. i play on H/H. My advice, dont play on VH campaign dificulty. I disbanded my fleet except for the one in spain, disbanded my chariots in sicily. Send your army to Carthago Nova on ships and Blitz AKRAGAS with your army in sicily. Send your army in africa to attack Masylia ( I went right for KIRTA) if played right, you will be in the green by a couple thousand. Dont spend money on buildings because you have 300,000 which will mostly be paying your debt for a few years.

My advice would be not to play on VH/VH (very unbalanced and said to be easier than H/H). For Carthage, you need to start with an aggressive strategy. Maybe disband some fleets, try to conquer at least two Major Regions with your starting armies. Besides that, I think that you should invest money in construction, especially trade-increasing buildings will help to boost your income. That's another very important thing: get trade rights with as many factions as possible. Without trade you will not survive.

Hope that this will help you, have fun!

On the higher difficulty levels, you will end up with money troubles.

Which is why I keep telling that the game is balanced at M/M

When playing M/M I didn't have any problems with the economy, too. You just have to disband the chariots
