Darth, I recently read a book about Alexnader the Great by Robin Lane Fox. It says Alexander's army besides his Macedonian cavalary contained also Thessalian Cavalary, wich fought in a DIAMOND formation. Would it be possible to make such a formation for cavalary? it seems more versalite than a wedge, because it would turn faster and maintain cohesion better...

Formations such as the wedge are hardcoded, its impossible to do something like that.

In fact I could fix a semi-romboid formation = diamond formation , for the cavalry to be used but AI will seldomly use it correctly. But not for each unit as Lusted said. I could do it like this:
