Will the Hoplites be able to use swords as a secondary weapon?
How many hoplites will there be per unit (e.g. 240, 160 etc)?

1: This was a glitch in the early versions of Rome that prevented the switch to swords unless it was a phalanx unit. i dont know whether it got fixed or not.
2: It will depend on what unit size you play on and also the unit themselves but i shouldnt think they will be anymore than 240ish on the huge setting

The early versions of RTw spear sword secondary bug was fixed in 1.3 so you will be able to have hoplites with spears and swords.

Depends on what you mean .
Those are all Greek factions and they are in Italy. If you mean in relation to where i said that Italian Hoplites wont be as strong as their mainland counterparts then yeah they are.

There is just one question the i need to clear up about recruitment. Could u just explain to me how the whole unique hoplites for each city process works?

Thats easy, its just a aor system. Each city has units that are unique to it. When conquered these units can still be trained, or not be trained, depending on what the team decide.
Its actually a zor system. About the city thing you have it almost right. I think the only units you wont be abel to train are the factions elite units. Other than that you will be abel to recruit its standard hoplites.Originally Posted by Ano2

I have a question... what do you have planned in terms of scripts? And will the mod be heavily scripted or just scripted for specific moments?

ok here's a pointless question what sword will most hoplites use (e.g Xiphos, Kopis)?

Well historically the Xiphos was much more common but we just plain like the kopis so it pops up more than it probably should

What version of RTW I need to play this mod?
Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europe vincendarum.
I believe it has been stated that it will work on RTW 1.5 or BI 1.6...
I have a stupid question of my own though: it seems that the team has experienced (again?) some internal problems... does this mean that the mod will die?
(please dont let it die, it's number one on my wait list!!! )
-its for BI 1.6
-the one who retired was inactive for the last 2-3 months anyway (and during that time the mod made the biggest progress)
...but innocence was lost long ago
