U mean writings from historians such as Homer, Aristoles right? I have read a bit of their writings however one must remember that these people are not completely objective, as pointed out by modern historians.
Ah yes modern historians who did not live in ancient greece would of course know more about it than its most epic philosopher and poets Just kidding...

No historian is ever completely objective. As my signature says...

I would actually say that a lot of modern historians are particularly subjective as well, substituting bias from pride for bias from political agendas
No I think they are unintentionaly biased from a slight Ethnocentric point of veiw.
