    Bump. Just wondering if anyone knows how to "unstuck" my One Ring mission. AI does not recognize my having the One Ring.

    What will actually happen to mordor if you destroy the ring? I heard Mordor will be destroyed but does that mean all settlements change into rebel settlements?

    An easy way to destroy the ring (if you have mounted bodygards) :

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    Personally I used Baron Samedi's mod with the "no more settlements becomes nomadic" option, Sent a lone quick general to Mordor from the back of it, and used the "always run from one corner to the next tactic" to win every battle I was stuck into.

    Then after 6 turns, ring destroyed, Sauron destroyed, all mordor settlements became rebels AND empty but with some big mordor stacks in the vicinity of Barad-Dûr.
    So, seeing I could not take them AND keep'em, I took them one after the other pillaging them and selling everything I could each time, until I ended up in eastern Osgiliath and stopped there my ring campaign.

    I like the idea of orc survivors trying to win back everything they lost, and the necessity to be ready to destroy them completly to get definitely rid of their nuisance.

    I choose the lone general solution because I got the ring really quick in my Eriador campaign and I wanted to keep a bit of challenge in the Mordor area.

    I got no bug whatsoever from the finding of the ring till its destruction.

    My problem is that my general "backed into" Eriador. He lost a battle, and then retreated into Eriador. So the mod does not recognize that I still have the ring....although I do (the "one ring" is still listed as one of the generals traits. Although, the ring traits are not getting worse, and the entire One Ring missing is stuck.

    I tried leaving Eriador, and then returning, but it did not work.

    If you don't want to start a new campaign all over, and if there's no other solution, maybe you could "sacrifice" the general in battle ?

    Maybe (and I said maybe) that would give a chance to start the script all over ? (Of course, you would have to catch the ring again... or let it go in the hopes to fight Sauron himself)

    Technically they are rebel settlements, yes, but there are no rebel armies in them, so they can be scooped up rather quickly.

    does the ring effect man power? dale has it with its king. i am mordor i took mirkwood forest entirely than they wared me and have tons of troops 2nd largest compared to me well thankfuly gondor has fallen well they stand at tarnost but Rohan is weak since edoras invasion by the goblins worked i saw a large elven army pop near Black gates and attacked it hopefuly things go well. The World of Men have fallen yet they hold at very defended last safe havens Rohan : Hornburg, Gondor: Tarnost.

    Hello.

    I'm playing TATW 3.2 vanilla.

    I'm having a problem switchin The One Ring anc to my general. Currently it's being hold by his son, so I get the two together and try to drag-and-drop The One Ring to the person I want it on, but it doesn't transfer. I've checked the files and it should be transferable (ancillary The One Ring transferable 1 or something like that). I can trade certain ancillaries, like pieces of armor, so the whole transfering system isn't bugged.

    How do I fix this?

    When does it usually come?

    The apperence is based on a random % each turn, 8% I think, so it's a matter of chance. Sooner or later it will pop up

    Is there a file I can edit to increase those chances?

    At 8% every turn, I may never get it... Its now turn 120..

    Open campaign_script.txt found in data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign
    Look for the sections that begins with
    ;#########################Random city ring spawn for evil factions
    and
    ;#########################Random city ring spawn for good factions
    and then edit the lines under the sections
    and RandomPercent <= 8
    8 can also be 7 and 6. Change to whatever you want to, higher equal greater chance natrually

    Save and open data/world/maps/base
    Delte map.rwm

    Will not be saved game compatible however

    Its turn 269 for my Mordor campaign and still no ring event..............


    Oh well. I'll edit the script like u said and start over I guess.



    BTW, when does the event come up for Gondor where it offers you to let Aragorn join you? Is it based on a small chance as well?



    EDIT: ok, somethings wrong. i edited the file like you said and deleted map.rwm. I set the chance to 99 for the good factions, but the ring event doesn't show up. im playing as gondor, and its turn 20, still no ring event.

    I started a new Mordor campaign. Before that, I edited the campaign script so that the ring would pop up on or after turn 2. I also set everything to 99% for the evil factions and then deleted map.rwm. But still no ring event!!!

    How do I know which General has the ring? I had a message that I got the ring and then got summoned several turns later. I don't even know who to send. Can anyone help?
