Destroying the Ring?

One of my generals found the One Ring, and now I'm being summoned to the White Council in Imladris, I have to arrive there in 25 turns. I have the strong suspicion that I will get the mission to destroy the One Ring in Mordor, but I wonder what will the ingame result be? Will Mordor completely fall? I play this game for the wars, so I wouldn't want to defeat the main enemy faction through a trick like that.

Because in my campaign the Ring always replaces so it's hard to capture it .

Can someone tell me how exactly how can I destroy the ring?

I found it as Silvan Elves once in Moria but it was stolen now i found it again in Isengard and want to destroy Mordor but don't know what to do, if i have to wait for some quest, or take it somewhere...

EDIT:: Just saw the spoiler on the first post. Does anyone know how many turns does it take to get the quest to go to Imladris?

LOL got stolen again is it even possible to destroy the ring without it being stolen? first time it was like 5 turns this time i got the quest, started going to Imladris, 4 or 5 turns later, stolen...

lucky you. i was just about to launch an attack on the black gate, having the ring with me would make it much easier destroying mordor

You must have the ring at least 10 turns in possession.

The moment you select your ringbearer there is a very small chance it will get stolen. Don't use your ringbearer for pointless things if you want to keep the ring.

Yes you will get the mission also. If A.I. controlled High Elves has lost Imladris the council will be transfered to Mithlond or else Caras Galadhon in this case.

Good question. It only counts for the commanding named character you select.

Rhun got it first and revived Sauron. What happens now if I kill Sauron? He goes back to being an eye and i have to find the ring again, or does Mordor get destroyed like if I destroyed the ring?
