Thane.
Thane.
Nihlus all the way, from the first time i got to play ME1 i thought "man this alien is awesome!"
Would be cool to play a game (perhaps rpg or not) that you could play as Nihlus as he started at the turian military and how he met saren, being promoted to the spectres and doing lots of dangerous things to the council, ending a few missions before the eden prime one.
Oh and i must not forget Lorik Quinn(sp?) He had some awesome voice acting.

I said earlier Ashley... Im now CONVINCED shes the most believable/relateable character, especially as a love interest after finishing ME3 Why you say? Because she keeps jumping between loving and hating you, trusting and not trusting you. She just seemed the most realistic as she didnt blindly trust shep after the whole cerberus thing in 2. I like characters who have faults and are not 1 dimensional.
She pretty much tied with Garrus now for my favorite character. Thats saying something as Garrus is the bro to end all Bros
The brohirrim of all brohrrim.
Garrus is my fav too! Such a badass guy. I've seen so many jokes about him floating around in the internet...just awesome. I can easily say he's my favorite character, as well as Liara. Classic but good to go. Tali and Joker (don't forget him!) are great too.
The only characters that 'blindingly', as you put it, trusted Shephard after working with Cerberus were the ones that(and this is shocking, I know), worked with him during that period and knew very well what they were doing and why. Liara, as a premiere information broker, and eventually the top information broker, knew damn well what he was doing and why. Any other ME3 team member was either not in a position to give a damn(Javik), or really really really hated the fact that Shephard did that(and made it pretty damn clear too), but they had explicit orders to aid Shephard in his operation(Ashley, Kaidan, Vega), though they came around eventually.

I s'pose it's less about awareness and having access to some information than about simple trust
Garrus and Tali believed in Shep's motivations of working with Cerberus almost at once
Anderson believed too, but after some careful investigation (he was the Councillor in my case, so couldn't take such a huge risk)
Ash, on the other hand...while her reaction was justified in ME2 (and considering her family military's problems), but in ME3 it was over the top imo. I almost snapped into some renegade answers to her accusations.
Overall, she was poorly done in ME3 (imo, again). May be if you romanced her...but if not, it all came down to same 'You worked for Cerberus' crap and the drunk scene. I was expecting more
Given Garrus' rather vigilante actions leading up to ME2, it's clear Garrus is interested in purpose of action, not necessarily source of funding. Though both agree that, dammit, watch our backs. Tali is actually a bit more interesting depending on your decisions in the first game. She trusts Shephard, but you have to convince her it's Shephard.
