I've got 3.1 up and running now. I just installed 3.0 + 3.1 to the default folder and used the mod launcher this time. I still suggest an edit in the OP though; as the installation instructions are confusing. It tells you to remove prior versions, which suggests 3.0 needs to be uninstalled since it also erroneously says 3.1 is standalone.

You first need to download 3.0 (part 1 and part 2) and 3.1. Then install 3.0 part 1, 3.0 part 2 and at last 3.1.

after you didi this you install 3.1
you have to install it into the normal medival 2 data then it should work (in my case it works)

Hey I didn't even know POM had an account here

But I'm 95% sure that you can't, sadly. The game uses the kindoms version, not the third age version, as reference point to see if the two games match or not.

haha indeed I do (although I don't get to check the forums out as much as I used to)

But that makes sense (in regards to the patch). I'm just having trouble updating my game to 1.05 for some strange reason.

Yeah the 1.5 patch thing is a little weird, I had some trouble with it in the beginning as well
There are a lot of different patches for 1.5, you'll just have to make sure you'll dowload the right one. If you have the gold edition you'll have to pick the patch with "(gold)" behind it. If you don't have the gold edition, the gold patch will mess your game up and vice versa.

If it still doesn't work then you could try to install the UK patch instead of the one for your respective country

I'm about ready to download new patch. I was wondering though Ive noticed in a lot of the videos of the new one some Gondorian units don't wear the full plate there just wearing a black tunic with the white tree symbol and chain mail under it. I was wondering do they start off without any and then you gradually upgrade to the full plate armor?

hmm, what do you mean? Do you mean "The one ring" submod? That one is included in the vanilla (no submod) release . Or do you just want a link to the submods area?
