You go to My Computer, right click, properties, advanced, settings, advanced, then below theres a change click it and click custom size then change it to w/e you want. Certain computers dont have a lot but I got a lot. So I changed it to 10k-15k.

These offer huge performance gains. Some have seen a 50% boost.

    Shogun 2 Retexture Project

    Shogun 2 Less shiny/glossy units (Naval,Campaign,Land)
    Better Environment for Campaign Maps

These are also included in my Fog of War Removal link because it improves the map performance in your campaign dramatically.

I've never put much stock in such programs; I thought I could optimize my system 100% without any such help. So I am surprised to see this working (for Win7). Campaign map lag is slightly reduced and performance in huge battles as well: not dramatically, but neither marginally, it is a noticable boost - very nice. It's like you can *feel* the reduced weight of all those background services being stopped. I'd put it like this:

    performance campaign map
before: average > after: rather good

    performance battles
before: good > after: very good

If you haven't tried this yet, you should ;-)

Gamebooster reduced my load times by five seconds! Gamebooster takes a few seconds to start itself. Net gain = almost zero. Conclusion: Netbooster probably only useful for those with marginal systems and/or a lot of system bloat.

    Hi Shimazu
I would like to check it out . Does it have any negative effect (burn graphic card or something ) ?

Nope. But it does allow other programs to take up more of the space also, but it does boost your game.

Im not sure I totally understand how this thing works. Do you have to put games you want to boost in the gamebox? Because I tried adding games via dragging the shortcut and steam games won't go in..?

good question, but as Shogun 2 is a steam game it must work, as that what they are all talking about. i think i also will give this a try too.

Just run gamebooster first. Then run Shogun 2 via Steam.

When you run gamebooster there should be options to close/open some program. Make sure you do not close Steam.

I tested this and was surprised that it actually has a noticeable effect. I noticed reduced load times and a higher frame rate when fully zoomed in to a large number of units fighting.

I used this with my old laptop and I almost doubled my fps in company of heroes.

I tried it with RTW and there was no difference, however.

I am trying it with my new machine now.
