How to boost Total war games

I use since a few months a freeware named "game booster". When it was 2.0, it was already better to run the game, but now with 3.0, I see definitly more the difference when I am in ultra setting with more than 15 000 men on the battlefield.
Game booster boosts your system in order to have more CPU and launches each time your launch a game. It can work for whatever game you play but I find it particulary adapted to TW games. So it can help the players that have a low performance or those like me who wants always more soldiers.

No, it gives you a list of Services running in the background that you can turn off before you start the game. Has nothing to do with hardware. You'd be surprised how much crap doesn't need to be running in the background for Windows 7.

I tried and it is great. My performance really went up. And it returns the original settings back after it finishes. I wish I knew about this tool sooner.

Completely agree. I started using this around a year ago and it made my game run so much faster and more efficiently. Without it the game lags... with it, it runs really smooth. I recommend this to everyone, even those who believe their games to run fine.

Just wanted to chyme in with my own testimony.

It really does work!!

Its not the be all end all of your GFX problems but its done these 2 things most noticeably on my Low-mid level Laptop.

1)Up close action is stuttering less and there is no lockup anymore!

2) Panning the Camera from high up around the battlefield, over large armies and large fights is considerably smoother. Arrow and Matchlock trails look as they were meant to. Blood trails are fluid(sorry, but that's the best descriptor I could think of. Corny eh?)

Overall, i highly recommend this freeware. It shut off over 20 programs and gave me a 42% performance increase.

I recently recommended it to a couple of friends who reported a 45% increase and a 66% increase.

I don't have any FPS data for you, but rest assured its higher.

Also worked well with TF2!

Ive used game booster for years now, It really does make a difference, on a 4 year old rig I can play shogun 2 on ultra settings (except AA) on huge battle at about 40-50 fps. Especially If your like me and have a cluttered desktop with rainmeter and dock programs running, they can really eat your RAM. This program temporarily closes those processes down to maximise performance, be sure to configure the settings as a lots of process are not automatically selected to close. I normally get something between a 50 and 60% boost to my games. Plus and I stress this, Its FREE, you would be nuts not to use this godsend of a tool.

Ishan - It might be worthy sticking this on the main boards for the other games too. Would help a lot of people out. Especially on the older, single core and limited RAM total war games.

You can also increase your virtual memory. I did it and I noticed a huge performance boost!
