Default A Great Work is Approaching Release

Note that this is not an official thread, but a fan tribute. DotS will be released once it is ready.

There are mods, then there were Mods.

I will focus on 1: EB, a mod that changed the standard of combining historical accuracy with nice gameplay (and beautiful, sensual sound and packaging) permanently.

With Dominion of the Sword nearing release, I want to post a thread to spur on and congratulate the team for sticking it out through the years and producing what will, and in my experience I can say this, become a monumental work changing the way we look at the middle ages, and taking simulation gaming to a new level altogether.

I look forward to this mod and its epic impact on gaming standards, this mod is one of those modes that not only brings back an old useless game into a "new game" worth replaying, but furthermore will spur further historical debate and act as a true monument to the medieval times which are so misunderstood and in MTWII were absolutely misrepresented. It will be much more like a "new game" it will make the medieval experience enjoyable, playable, maliable and as realistic as the boundaries will allow.

Stay the course during these last week lads! You deserve our most heartfull congratulations and thanks!

Hope you had as much fun modding as we had following.

yeah they are looking very good...but unfortunately,i think, that this a tournament "armor"...such were only used in tournaments, not in "real" battles.they were kinda more glamourous, but it wouldnt resist as many as a real armor(not sure though)

anw,i am looking forward to play this mod,and play for 1 more time a medieval 2 campaign!

This thread can serve to generate fan momentum, I am really looking forward to this mod because to be honest, it encompases all of the changes I would have made to MTWII but had no clear line of sight to how to implement them

My favourite feature is the perma-forts and family trees, the slow down and historical realism of this mod fixes my two biggest problems with MTWII, and should make the AI's aggression much more interesting...

As a turtle-er and a general role player when it comes to playing I think there will be no where else to turn for quite some time.

The great thing about a thread like this is the more posts the quicker the mod will come out. It's that collective consciousness stuff I think.

Me three, it is what we all wanted from MedII and many years later we will finally be getting it all thanks to the efforts of Hross and co.

I've said this before and I'll say it again:

We need a sort of credits list for people who have and are actively contributing to this mod. Everyone needs a pat on the back
Looking forward to Dominion of the Sword

Totally agreed. Keep it up, DotS team !

And I must add that the sample of new music I have heard is totally awesome. Great medieval atmoshere. There is nothing better than a traditionnal soundtrack.

Agreed m8... one of the things I still thing was amazing but forgotten about EB was the soundtrack... good practices from DotS team

And if someone things I am a positive fan boy they are absolutelly right short of "special" favours for DotS's crew

I have never been a big music fan of any video games I play, but this one sounds like a possible exception.

Yeah, I believe that music is as important as graphics. That's the same with movies.

This is interesting, I actually play the game as an expansive power and it's just too easy in most/all mods, sure 100 Epic-sized battles every turn is great, but i want my Campaign and it's sucess/failure to MEAN something!!!

And i guess i do want the RPG elements of the game to be imposed on me, because if i can rule the whole map without worrying about them i'll probably never end up getting involved with it, even though i do want to!

Well, when Dominion is released I know I won't have a social life anymore. So please DotS team, could you release it after my graduation? It will keep me from having to do it again .

This is the most excited I have ever been for a mod, it is like a new game is coming out, but better in some ways. I am trying to forget about it so it will be a surprize when it drops!!

Haha yeah that's what I did for RS2 but I keep coming back every few days for updates. This is truly a epic piece of work and what I saw in the preview, especially the names PSFs, was amazing. It really expands the scope of the game.
