Good thing we are using drones as recon aircraft these days. Can you imagine the that would have ensued if the Iranians were to capture a live pilot?

The Iranians can sell the drone to whom ever they like, but it's not like the buyers don't already have stealth technology of their own. The knowledge to design stealth engines for aircraft is already out there, that's old news. The problem is funding projects like that, which only the US can do.

Also, LOL @ the picture of the drone. You would think that the Iranians would at least try and make it realistic. There is no damage to it at all.

Dunno if it's already been mentioned but the BBC article said that the Iranians brought it down using 'cyber warfare', hence the lack of damage.

It's funny how you're free to bash "Christians" (which, need I remind you, the US is not a Christian nation and in fact a nation of everyone including Muslims. Yes, there are even Muslims serving in Iraq and Afghanistan) but someone makes one mention of Islam and it's a grave injustice.

Your posts are hypocritical and quite frankly flatly wrong. In fact religion has nothing to do with any of this, why you have yet to understand this after having so many people telling you I guess is just a trait of being such a fanatical Muslim such as yourself. You have to use it as a justification of your otherwise unjustifiable hate and irrationality.
You cannot pick and choose what to follow from your holy books. If you are truly a Christian, you must follow the bible by the letter. One read through Leviticus, where the disabled are barred from Church attendance, and homosexuals should be the least of your worry. It's the whole book or none of it, and to follow the whole book is to be immoral.
    So it goes.

The drone in the picture literally has no scratch on it. These type of drones operate 30,000ft in the air. The drop out of air alone would have caused it to crash into pieces.

Mov why do you keep citing FARS news and Press TV? I mean, it would actually be a challenge to find news sources more biased and often wrong.

Playing devil's advocate here, it probably didn't plummet from 30K ft and crash. It probably autolanded somewhere, but even the shock of that landing might have caused stress. I can see that that would be why they are displaying it without landing gear/being able to see the bottom of the aircraft.

Stealth technology did not work well because it was discovered. But I think the Chinese and the Russians have this technology

Choki that doesn't even make sense. We still are not aware of just how "stealthy" the design is, and we are still not certain that the Iranians even knew it was in the air or how they acquired it.

And if the Russians and Chinese had this tech, we would know because the Chinese would have plastered it all over their newspapers.

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner says the intact condition of the Sentinel tends to support their claim.

Iran's Press TV said that the Iranian army's "electronic warfare unit" brought down the drone on 4 December as it was flying over the city of Kashmar.

Brig General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards' aerospace unit, told Iranian media that the drone "fell into the trap" of the unit "who then managed to land it with minimum damage".
Obviously it might be bullshizz but that's what their saying.

Generally speaking if we just assume the opposite of whatever the Iranian PR statements are we find the truth.

So apparently now US is saying that Iran indeed does have the drone, after the images showed up.

They never denied that they lost the drone.

Obviously BS. The Iranians may have spiked the signal, cutting off user feed from the pilot. The drone crashed and the Iranians spent the last 5 days trying to doll up the drone and make it look pretty, which would explain why it took so long for them to give us a picture. But hijacking it? That's too much. I doubt even Russia or China can do that.

Notice that the Iranians first claimed that they shot down the drone, now after 5 days to make the drone look brand new, they are saying that they hijacked it. Right....

The collective intelligence of all the Iranian people would not be enough to even begin to develop anything that could "electronically hijack" one of the United States stealth drones. More likely the drone wandered over the Iranian border after control was lost and it made an emergency self landing
I suppose i should have some sort of sig here.

insurgents in iraq have been hacking drones since 2009, maybe professional hackers could do better than them?

that's true. But there are other ways to get this technology. There are many countries that purchase U.S. military equipment

Getting a 5 second video feed off of an outdated predator drone that's not using encryption is WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY different then taking control of a stealth drone on secure feeds.

One is simply sniffing an unsecured network and the other is manipulating a secured network.

Right, but we are picky about what we sell to whom. For instance, we refused to sell the F-22 to the Japanese even though they are one of our closest allies and it would have driven down costs on our end. I cannot think of any stealth tech that we have sold to anyone outside of the F-15 SE, and that is still only to SK.

...wait, why didn't we do that again exactly?

Disappointed that Obama passed on the option to take this drone out. I'm still trying to find the details as far as if we know where it actaullly is right now. The excuse that it may be perceived as an act of war after already violating another countries airspace is puzzling.

The US will gladly step up to become the world police when there is oil involved, yet they will resign the second there is a genocide in Africa, a slaughter in an allied nation, or a massacre committed by dictators, all who's nations have nothing to offer, but the gratitude of the people to the international community for reaching out.
