Aidan grunted and bit forcibly against his pipe stem.
Need, is it?

"Not from the Cloth anyway. There is a Bishop in Dunkeld that I speak to know. Probably because of his proximity."William nodded.
So, you don't follow your religious vows any longer?
He looked down, then up at William
"So William, what have you been up to. The last I saw of you was when you were about to launch the attack from Sanglier."
Ah yes, Sanglier. Not from the Cloth anyway. There is a Bishop in Dunkeld that I speak to know. Probably because of his proximity."

William scratched his chin thoughtfully. He was quite sure that he would never in his life experience such a great battle again. The memories both haunted his mind and glorified it.
I earned a living as a mercenary and gunsmith, and together with my travelling companions journeyed through Europa...
It is an order, in fact.Aidan grunted and bit forcibly against his pipe stem.
Need, is it?
William smiled faintly.

And I'm not doing anything?
William took a seat, grabbed hold of Aidan's pipe, and with it lit his own wrapped up joint of Rutland...
They're old acquaintances of mine.
Oh, aye? Acquaintances that'll shove a stake up yer arse at the mere suspicion of what we've done. They're dangerous buggers.

You should not worry about that.
William puffed elegantly yet casually on his Rutland 'branch' and leaned back in his seat.
It has been three years.
You know damn well they'd persecute you if it had been yer great grandaddy who did it. Time's nothing to these men. They'll see your burning pyre as the spark to ignite the progression of their own God-awful careers.
Taking back his pipe with shaking hands, Aidan attempted to calm himself.

Never thought you were this paranoid, Addy.
William said, and scratched his nose nonchalantly.
So, have you seen the new cannons?
William asked. He was refering to the newly crafted siege cannons that had been forged in the foundries of Thame...
Aidan frowned.
Bugger the cannons.
He puffed furiously for a short while.
Where are these men of yours then?

In the barracks.
William grabbed a bottle of Anjou wine and poured up a goblet...
They're aquitainians.
The archbishop smiled

Countess Delphine, with a few retainers and her two eldest children arrive at the town of Broughton. She is transfixed by some cannon as they ride through the town to the Castle to meet with the Lord of Oxford.
I can of course aid thee in your endeavour by sending you some rough sketches but I can't promise you anything more than that, your grace. The archbishop smiled

The countess is greeted by a rather spectacular sight. Four well crafted siege cannons, recently delivered from the weapon foundries of Thame, went off in salute as the countess and her retinue approached the castle. Massive clouds of thick and beautiful grey smoke were propelled out of the vicious mouths of the fierce cannons...
Delphine is amazed by the cannon, and stares up at the cannon for a few minutes before continuing. The others are impressed, but keep moving. Delphine afterwards could be heard contemplating using cannon on the Rynian border and for Kirkwall as defenses against Rynians or pirates..
"Aye, traveling seems like it did well for you William. Good to get out of a place when such memories haunt."Ah yes, Sanglier.

Countess Delphine is greeted by a soot covered William Stafford in the courtyard of the manor house.
Lady Delphine.
William smiled widely and bowed. He remembered Delphine from his years at the royal court...
I have heard rumours of problems within the clerical ranks, is this true? I have heard that Archbishop Philip is not very respected..."Aye, traveling seems like it did well for you William. Good to get out of a place when such memories haunt."
I am sure you'll be able to do it. Now, get on with it.They'd better speak God's own, cause I'm not doing this for my own health...
What's left of it now that the Church dogs have their scent...

Delphine nod, taking a second to try to remember who this man was, before she remembers..
"Lord William. A rather beautiful castle you have here."
Lilith is looking off into the distance, while Sebastian nods at William. Sten, who is behind Delphine, keeps an eye on William.
William smiled kindly at all of them and motioned for them to follow him as he turned towards the entrance of the manor...
It is a fine manor house, aye.
William ran a casual hand through his dark hair...
So, what brings you to Oxfordshire, Lady Delphine?
