The Helios - Issue VII
- Bring out your dead!
- Here's one.
- Ninepence.
- I'm not dead!
- What?
- Nothing. Here's your ninepence.
- I'm not dead!
- 'Ere. He says he's not dead!
- Yes, he is.
- I'm not!
The Helios is back, not dead, and quoting Monty Python! Brilliant!
It seems like a long time ago that I wrote the last Helios. Well, I suppose it was. It was a month ago that I wrote the April Fools' "Staff Message" and... I don't know how long it has been since a real edition of the Helios came out. The upshot of all this is that I have finally decied to pull my finger out and write another.
At some stage in the last month, I had a team. Dunno what happened to them, though. Their news-writing glands eaten by rabid ocelots, perhaps?
Anyway, enjoy some more Helios goodness (we have a guest article by romeac, too!):

Quite a lot of things have happened in the last month. TWC has an IRC Channel, for a start! Come and join the (hopefully) growing number of the TWC Community who have dared to venture where... you get the picture.
Tacticalwithdrawal has started the dramatically-named BATTLEZONE! This is the place for RTW players to pit themselves against the AI in Historical Battles (Custom Battles coming soon!), vying for the best result. I would have a go myself, but in case you haven't noticed I AM WRITING THE HELIOS RIGHT NOW!
We have had a cool forum restructure, with new names and new places for old forums.
A Reputation system has been implemented, too! Reward people who make great posts! Feel free to try it out on me by clicking the funky symbol next to the "Report" button (don't get them confused!)
Jesus the Inane is my pick for the Unofficial Lad Most Preoccupied With Sex and Most Brilliant Thread Title Awards (Okay, I just made them up then. You got me.) Sorry if I offend you Jesus the Inane, but these are absolute gems: Ejaculation but no Orgasm?; Mini-Skirts: Why Do They Excite Me?; Muscles and Women's Attractiveness to Man and, my favourite, Interrupting the Passion of Life.
TWC's homosexuals, bisexuals, curious straight men and females have resurrected The Hunks Thread, which is nice.
In modding news, Archer wants to know if your mod is Dead or Not Dead.
While Hegemonia are releasing previews like crazy people (crazy!), Paeninsula Italica have released two blockbuter previews (they made Rome!).
The Fall of the Republic - Rise of the Empire (FRRE) team have released the 1.9 version of their mod "The First Tiumvirate". Go here to check it out.
Also, make sure to have a look at DEMETRIOUS II's brillian EB AAR, Hellenes

Fingerprints of the Past (FotP)
By rome ac
For some strange reason I wanted to post something about the FotP so here it is. When I started coming to this site (old LTW) about two years ago I was really only interested in the Time Commander show and RTW. My knowledge of history was small and weak but thanks to “Fingerprints of the Past” it made me the History Freak of my school.
Anyway I wanted to post about the interesting thing happens (like threads an members).
Threads
-Historical quiz thread: The most popular thread in the FotP it was created by Marcus Trajan 01-06-2005 its at 252 pages and still going.
-Siege of Constantinople?: This thread been quit popular for the last few weeks created by Eric it was first started to find out if the cannon where that much of a big attribute to the fall but it as gone to the bravery of the last Emperor Constantine XII to what is name comes from and know its at how the Ottoman where quit violent.
-Least admirable characters in History - bottom 10 :Rosacrux redux created this thread to see what you guys think about the worst of the worst in history we have seen name like Adolf Hitler and Stalin (and trying to see who the worst) to Megas Alexandros.
Members
Marcus Trajan: The all knowing Marcus he seems (by my view) more in WWII and but still as a spot of the castle age and Ancient
Red Baron: Probably the best for Roman history especially the Emperor
Spartacus-Popat: Quit smart in all subject
Kscott: He seem most interested in the nomads (mongol, Turks, arabs, etc)
Eric: Likes to ask question (best way to know history) but seems to know a lot about the 16-17 century
Mudd: Quit a historian on WWII
Other like Rez, Sword of Cao Cao, Therussian and of course Trucoplier. Sorry if I forgot anybody else so here my two cents about the “Fingerprint of the Past”. I hope you like it
Thanks Menander for letting me post this.
