    Default Experimental features testing

This is a pre-alpha of what an MM-BI-XGM campaign could be in future versions, it's not complete or balanced by any means but shouldn't CTD this time...

    UPDATED 2006/05/04

    What you can find here:

    - Loyalty system 0.7 beta

    - revised economics add-on 0.5 beta

    - some factions now prefer naval invasions

    - MM starting script tweaks

    Testing environment:

I developed this under a full extras campaign, meaning that I used mundus magnus and the BI exe, so that's the ideal testing environment.
It may work under a normal campaign too, but it's totally untested there.

What you should look for: CTDs, AI is very static because the starting script hasn't been updated yet.

Some tips: GCS, Pontus, Parthia and Seleucid campaigns can be quite intriguing now, seleucids especially will have a much harder time in the future to keep their empire but even now under AI they slowly collapse in a nice way, with the border regions rebelling to the parthians while the rest struggles to develop with limited resources, Carthage is also fun...

Watch out for elites, they are excellent at draining your budget and the infrastructure required to build them has now an impact on your economy...
Most factions will stay short of money even under player control for 50-100 turns, blitztrieg is still an effective tactic but at the risk of being left with a depleted army and underdeveloped, rebellious cities.

Hi Zarax i got the file for testing and just pasted your data folder over xgm data, is this the right thing to do? started campaign with Parthia on medium dif. normal imperial camp. now year is 262 and no problems so far. two cities rebelled to me. money are scarce but that's normal for the begining will see what goes after more years. can't upload images to imageshack right now but toggle-fow shows that ai is expanding. seleucids field large cheap armies that are perfect for exp for my HA only problem i have but guess has nothing to do with your changes is that i turned fatigue on after i started the campaign and it's not working for some reason, guess i'll have to start new camp. that's all for now

    Ok, keep me updated please...

Just one question: are the revised prices hampering your production capability in a significant way?

Can you check if the faction leader got loyalty rings?
For starting family members it should be normal as I didn't put the loyaltystarter trait for them yet.

Can you hover your mouse over the loyalty stats and check if any text appears? Maybe you don't see the rings because you're using 1.5 and not BI

Ok, let me check if I forgot to upload anything...
In the meantime, can you try deleting your map.rwm file?

Hmm, this is very weird, you should have a map.rwm there unless you're using the unified rome campaign instead...
BTW, did the loyalty rings appear with the parthians?

I don't think they are the problem... Do you have the latest XGM installed?

yep 3.6.12, got mm and bi xgm
Edit: wow that's really weird- i downloaded your data again pasted it over just like before and now there is line for loyalty!? i swear that i did exactly the same thing as the previous time! it messed up the character traits of a old game but loyalty shows when i start new campaign. please don't be mad at me for wasting so much time and forum space but i really did exactly what i've done before!

No problem, I do tech support among other things in my life so don't worry, I'm used to worse things than this...
Are you getting any CTDs during AI turn so far?

ok here is the first report of my parthian campaign. playing on m/m dif. it's 8 turns after the start and i'm 15k in the red, becouse decided to keep the starting cats and HA. captured 2 provinces, one rebel and one selucid, wich makes me loose just 1k per turn. no ctd's so far. there are huge rebel armies roaming arround-some are almost full stacs! i got attacked by rebels on the field toggle fow shows that only macedon, thrace and julii captured 1 rebel province each. well that's all for now- it's crazy- guess i have to play on easy just to make some cash

I'm sorry for the EB-like start, I didn't start balancing yet...
Smartest thing to do is doing a full disband of the katanks, before or after conquering the first rebel town is up to you...
Armies and a few towns will be kindly provided by the seleucids in a few turns, you shouldn't worry about enemy armies directed towards you for the first 10 turns at least and even then some smart playing with your generals and a few HA will help you to develop slowly but steady...
